I just started this program and don't know much about all of this. I do well staying under calories, carbs and fat but I always go over with protein. I don't eat any red meat. I do eat diary and white meat occasionally. Can I still loose weight being over with protein? Thanks!!

i wouldn't worry about being over protein. just drink lots of water to help your kidneys process. the basic carb/fat/protein proportions here from what i recall don't have a very high protein level anyway.

If you are going by MFP numbers then don't worry about it, their protein numbers are way low especially if you do any strength training at all.

I deliberately upped my protein level to a more standard number when I saw how low it was on MFP. You can do the same thing if you go into goals and you can change the number and even change what you want to track.

For some people carbs and sugar are the most important. for others it is cholesterol and salt. Choose to track what you need to and don't worry so much about protein especially since you aren't eating a lot of red meat. Protein helps us to not have sugar spikes when we eat carbs so actually if you have a piece of fruit, eating some nuts or peanut butter or yogurt will help not only to slow down digestion and keep you fuller longer, but it will help your sugar levels stay consistent which helps to reduce fatty deposits.

    Good luck!
  • Awesome!! thanks so so much for responding. I just started a few days ago so - no loss yet - but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!! Looks like from all of your trackers - you all are doing a great job!! Keep up the good work!! :)
