Whats a good HRM for under $30

I'm looking for a heart rate monitor for $30 or under, I was wondering which ones the best if there is any good ones for that price range that tell you how many calories you burn. Thanks

    Someone on here told me to go to Walmart.. they are right around 30 and work just fine! I'll be getting mine soon!

    None.. You want a decent one that will give you an accurate calorie estimation then you are going to have to shell out at least 50.

    Look on Amazon.. and look for a Polar FT4. It's more then you want to spend, but it's going to be more accurate then one from Walmart and won't break as easily.

    You can check eBay auctions - I picked up my New Balance N4 for $26 (brand new). Just have to figure out HRM you want, search the auctions and be patient until you find a Buy It Now or get the winning bid.

    I bought one from walmart and ended up having to take it back. It had a lot of issues and was very inaccurate...

    The one from walmart sucks! It worked for two weeks but after all the sweating I've done.......for a two hour Zumbathon it registered 112 calories burned

    Target has some cheaper ones too.

    At this price, forget calorie estimates, it'll be just about useless.

    Go for one that will show you an average HR at the end of a session, besides live HR.
    And has user replaceable batteries in the monitor and strap units both. Cheaper have cheaper batteries.

    Then at least you can take your AHR figure and get a more accurate estimate of calories burned (if that is the reason for it) here:

    I have a New Balance one, I got it for $50 bucks at Costco. I think its pretty good, but I don't know about any for less than that.

    I think they are in US dollars. Mine cost about $80.00 US - Polar FT7 (extremely accurate and worth it)

    you can buy a Polar from a place in Quesnel, but you're going to pay around $125.00 CDN for it. the thing works though and they'll ship it out pretty much the same day you order it.

    I've been using mine from Walmart for about 3 weeks now and it seems to be working just fine. I don't really know if it's accurate or not, but it seems to be

    I agree with the others.
    Save up for a nicer one, with these you get what you pay for.
    Try Craigslist and Ebay as well.

    I got a Bowflex/Newbalance/not sure for $26 on ebay, it works great. It was originally like $100, but it was clearance.

    Save up for a good one - it is worth it. The cheap ones can be so inaccurate, and the calories burned or not burned can be so off with them.

    THink of it this way...you'll be burning through "cheap $30" HRM's faster than you would if you got a high quality one from the start :) You'll end up spending LESS money in the end.

    I bought a mio brand classic fit EKG-Accurate HRM and calorie management system band [no chest strap] normal cost 60 on clearance for 40 at MC Sports, and so far it seems to be working great. I can't wait to test it in the gym and see how many calories my HRM says i burn on the treadmill and elliptical versus what the machine says.
