I have been working out for some time now...(cardio and splitting wood by hand) for some time now....I have been stuck at a certain weight and I just can't go below 233 pounds...I'm a muscluar person so I carry the weight well...but still can pinch a inch on the sides/love handles.....do you think I'm at my weight my body wants to stay even thou my scale says I'm obese?

I have been tracking my calories burnt for the last 5 months and I should have lost at least 10 pounds.....

Are you routinely adding new challenges and changing your routines?

    As Greg Glassman says:

    'World-Class Fitness in 100 Words:
    ■ Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds,
some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep
intake to levels that will support exercise but
    not body fat.
    ■ Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean,
squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly,
master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups,
dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to
handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds.
Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast.
    ■ Five or six days per week mix these elements
in as many combinations and patterns
as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy.
    Keep workouts short and intense.
    ■ Regularly learn and play new sports.'

While splitting wood is a great workout - it is only one kind of workout and it doesn't workout the entire body. Changing up your routine coud be the answer for you.

I used to be able to do my own weight lifting workouts-at a club for many years and then for the past 15 years with my own equipment in my workout room. However, over the past 5 years or so, I couldn't stick to anything. I was constantly distracted and unable to finish a workout or even do one at all. I am 51 and thought maybe my age was part of it but I never plan to quit working out so I needed to find something different. Last year I discovered P90X and realized I could stay with a workout using a DVD. Following Tony Horton while he did the workout kept me focused and helped me finish the workouts.

I didn't complete the entire program exactly as it said, but I made a lot of progress and lost a few pounds. In December, I purchased P90X2 and I totally love thiese workouts!! I have only lost 3 pounds but at the same time I have been building my muscles and I look and feel so much better - and I have lost a few inches.

I would definatly suggest looking into workout DVD's. I have only done P90X and P90X2 but there are a variety of them out there that a person can choose from. I would recommend checking out BeachBody.com - there would definatly be a workout routine you would like and I have found they are good quality workouts.

What I like about P90X2 is the focus on core and balance workouts. Almost everything you do involves holding one leg up, using a balance ball, doing pushups with your feet on a weighted ball. It is a unique workout which has worked my abs and core like nothing else.

I am currently on week 6 and if I had been watching my calories better the whole time I would have lost more weight - but I was diong this right through Christmas so that made it a little difficult!

I have the most solid 6 pack I've ever had in my life from X2 Ab Ripper! Right now I can feel it but I won't be able to show it off until I lose a couple more pounds.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do. If you want any more info on the P90X workouts - don't hesitate to ask!
