How much longer?

I've debated for quite a while about putting this up here because it's only been 2 weeks, but...it's starting to frustrate me.
I started MFP 2 weeks ago. I've been eating 1200 (which is what MFP set my calories at), and working out every day. I alternate between 2 different barre workout videos and my exercise bike (but mostly barre workout). Minimum 30 minutes a day, but often longer. They're pretty intense workouts, and I'm definitely sore the next day.
When I saw an increase on the scale, I wasn't too worried because I know what happens when you start working out (muscles, glycogen, water, retention, etc.). However, it's been 2 weeks, and I haven't seen a change. I'm starting to lose my motivation. Last night I gave up on my work out after only 15 minutes because I was starting to feel depressed about it.
I know I should probably measure instead of weigh, but it's so time consuming and I rarely have the time to do it.
To those of you who have been through this before, how long was it before you started seeing a loss on the scale?

For me, it was between 2 and 3 weeks at first. Don't give up yet! Here's two things that helped me kickstart weight loss:
-drink LOTS of water
-eat lots of raw veggies (salad, celery sticks, cucumber, etc.)
-limit sodium
It also depends on how much you have to lose. Those who have more to lose will lose more faster. If you only have, say 20 pounds to lose, it's going to come off slower. But keep up to good work! You'll see a change soon.0 -
Yea don't get discouraged. I'm sure all the workouts are building up your muscles and you're just getting more toned right now. Once the weight does start falling off, which the muscles will greatly speed up, you will look amazing. Don't stop! I was reading something that said normally it takes 4 week for you to notice a change in your body, 8 weeks for friends and family to notice, and 12 weeks for the world. So keep at it and good luck!

Are you eating your exercise calories? I know it sounds crazy and I thought these people on here had lost their minds trying to tell everybody to eat their calories back. Well I had 2wks of not losing anything so I thought well what do I hav to lose and started eating my exercise calories and like magic I have lost 2lbs this week. If you're not eating them I would highly encourage you to try it! Good luck I hope the pounds start fly off soon!0

2 weeks is not a long time. Hang in there. Took me about three weeks to see loss on the scale but I felt more energetic and a general sense of pride in taking action to becoming fit and healthy. Then one day I got on the scale and I had lost 4lbs. Then another 3lbs. Then no loss for a couple of weeks and then poof, another 3lbs gone! I've been on here for about two months... that's 10lbs gone in two months.Reading from your frustration that may not seem like a lot, but trust me those exercises you're doing will be reflected in your body shape. I'm swimming in my clothes. I look different. The scale is not the end all. Even if you don't measure yourself, look for other indications of transformation. You could also take pictures. That's pretty speedy. Snap a shot and in a month snap another. Compare side by side. With all you are doing, you will see a difference. Do not get shattered by that pesky scale. You are doing great!0

Take your inches. That was the first thing that melted off me. I have been at it 3 weeks and I only lost about 5 lbs but I lost 7 inches around my hips and 3 inches around my waiste. Inches are more honest than the scale is. Forget about those numbers for a while. I am sitting at 160 lbs and it is killing me, I want to be in the 150's sooooo badly. Patience is key, it is a lifetime change after all. 2 weeks is just the beginning.0

Are you sure you recording your food intake ACCURATELY? Do you have a HRM?Dont rely on Mfp to tell you how much you have burned. Do you eat alot of fast food? Lastly, 2weeks is not a long time, watch your inches rather. The scale is almost always wrong anyway :-)0

Thank you for the advice, everybody! I'll try to make the time to measure in the morning. I hope I see some changes soon!0

Absolutely. I put in everything and overestimate if I'm not sure about serving size. Nope, no fast food at all...can't afford it (calorie-wise and money-wise). One meal would take up my entire calorie allowance!

Good news! I've taken a bit of a 'rest' the past 2 days from exercising. I stepped on the scale this morning and the extra pounds came off! I thought it was a good sign when I was taking a few too many bathroom trips yesterday...I guess it was just water weight after all!
Thank you everyone for your advice and motivation!0
