What am I doing wrong?

So this is new for me. I'm a 27 year old female and I was active all of my early life. I never stopped moving or playing sports. Now that the years are adding on I am only gaining weight and finding it hard to find time to be as active or to lose the weight. Maybe it's just laziness that has set in! Recently I decided to really lose the weight this time because I weigh 197 and that is just scary to me since I'm only 5' 7. This past week and a half I have been busting my butt at the gym and trying really hard to eat better. The only thing that has happened is that I gained more weight. I'm heavier than I was when I started. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I know about gaining muscle, but that usually happens after I lose some of the fat weight first. My doctor told me about this website and I think I might actually be eating worse than I thought I was. Hopefully this can help me track what I'm doing wrong.

Your body will do strange things when adjusting to a new mode of operation. Give it time. If you don't see some weight loss in a couple of weeks, then you might want to re-examine your diet and workout plans. Also, make sure you are drinking lots and lots of water if you are working out hard. If you don't drink enough, your body will hang on to what you do give it, which will look like weight gain on the scale.0 -
This website has done wonders for my bad eating habits! Sometimes you just don't realize how much you're taking in, especially when it comes to soft drinks and alcohol, even grazing on "healthy snacks". Keep up with this site and you will definitely see results! I also love self.com where you can find a lot of tips for overcoming plateaus. Good luck! You can do it!0

Hello and welcome to the best website ever. You will love it here, I do. This site is so helpful, supportive, motivational, easy to use, and everyone here is so nice and friendly. I just wanted to tell you that I hope you have a lot of success on your weight loss journey. You can do this. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:0

Your story sounds just like mine, only you've got three inches on me! I successfully lost almost 20 lbs last summer. (Unfortunately, I gained it all back over the winter. I'm pretty sure it is related to my new birth control though). This site really does help. You just have to be diligent and track everything. Sometimes it's easiest to plan ahead. Know what you're going to eat for the next day and log it first. That way you can change it before something goes terribly wrong! Give it a little more time and I'm sure you'll see results. Good luck!:happy:0
