Newbie One week in, already lost 5 lbs!

Hi all. To start I weigh 192 lbs, and am a 5"9' Male. I used to be an athlete and avid weight lifter, from my freshmen year of high school to my junior year of college. I stopped when I hurt my shoulder and could no longer bench press. I got frustrated and never lifted for more than a month or 2 at a time after that. My gf found this and I decided to join her so we could support each other and our goals. I do not think she needs it at all but we both would like to lose a few to feel better about ourselves.
So I am a week in a handling it pretty good, was tough to give up coke because I would have prob 1.5 a day. I have not drank one since I have started, but still do crave them a lot. I went over my calorie intake by a few, the first 3 days and have been under ever since due to the fact that I have added in working out. I play Y league bball once a week and that burns a ton, but ran a mile monday and tuesday on a treadmill and went ahead and stepped it up to 2 miles each on wednesday and thursday.
Happy to report I have worked out 5 straight days now and been under calories all of those days easy. Goal is to get to 165 lbs. which might be a lil extreme, but who knows. I started at 192 lbs so wanna lose 27 lbs! I'm def not starting way overweight but def less comfortable with my body then I ever have been. And would like to feel better and look my best for my girlfriend.
I am Proud to say one week in today and have lost 5 Lbs exactly!

Good for you - just stay the course and continue to make those good decisions. I too bounced up to exactly 193 after being in the 165 range. now on my way and just a few weeks away from being in the best shape in my life.

lost 0.6 lbs. week 3 on thursday, obv not the best but still enough to show some progress. How old are ya Mike im 25 how long did it take ya to lose the 21 so far which is awesome man ur goal is right at the same as mine? been eating a lot of turkey omelets, chicken breast, potatos and toast. just curious on ur story thanks a lot for the encouragement. almost down 7 total now! 20 more to go.0

The first five pounds took five months. Then I went primal. The rest came off in 6 weeks.b just fell off. I'm 47 and didn't think I could ever get back into shape.0

Week 4 weigh in today is awesome, lost 2.2 lbs this week which exceeds my 2 lb goal. Girlfriend lost 1.8 lbs this week so we killed it so pretty excited been working out a lot and am excited to keep it going. down 8.8 lbs total in first 4 weeks couldnt be happier about that.0

RE: your coke cravings, I'm sure you have already, but do you drink Coke Zero at all? If so, have you had it from McDonald's? Something about McD's formula makes it SO MUCH better than canned, bottled or any other fountain I've tried. Just a thought!

Yeah lost 2.2 lbs week which i was extremely happy about how about urself?0 -
Yup. lost 2 last week while on vacation and this week is looking like 3 by friday.0

Lost 2.5 lbs this week which is my most since week one which most ppl lose a lot on week one. Feel awesome about it too, this week im looking to keep it going and reach the halfway point to my goal im 0.8lbs away from bein in the 170s again and 2 pounds from my halfway point.0

Lost 1.8 Ibs this week and am very happy with that. I have now cracked the 170s for first time since prob freshman year of college, i am 0.5 from halfway to my goal so thats pretty exciting as well. looking like im on pace for my goal in around 90 days barring any set backs. Pretty excited!0

Over Half way to my goal now after losing 1 pound this week for a total of 14. Goal is 27 but i think im gonna change it to at least 30 now that i see what i have left to go.0

lost 2.4 lbs this week! my best week so far feels great and im well on my way to my goal as now i am at 16.4 pounds. goal was 27 but prob gonna go to 30 lbs.0
