Hi!
I have been with MFP for 4 weeks so far and have lost 11Pounds.... Dont know if I am being to desperate but I´d like to know if I should´ve lost more than that in those weeks .. since I really want to give my maximum with my weight loss plans.
What would be the healthiest amount of pounds per week? any comments?

I've always heard two pounds a week was a good amount to lose a week, but I have no scientific or other evidence in support. Actually, come to think of it, I think I heard that from my mom and god only knows where she gets some of her ideas! I'll be curious to hear what others - more informed than me! - have to say!0

I've lost 11 lbs too in 4 weeks........0

1 lb a week is really recommended... if you have 75+ pounds to lose, than 2 a week is good.
that said - the first month most people lose more.. be it water weight or the drastic change.0 -
2LBS A WEEK IS A HEALTHY WEIGHT LOSS. SLOWER IT COMES OFF EASIER TO KEEP OFF! KEEP IT UP GIRL!0

Usually 5 lbs the first week and then 1-2 a week after that. You usually lose more the first week because it's water weight.0

depends on how much you weigh, how tall you are and your age, all of that will make a huge difference!! one to 2 lbs a week should be sufficient0

Shoot for 1 pound a week and be happy about it. If more comes off, it's a bonus.0

1-2 lbs per week is a healthy loss. It does get slower as you get closer to goal.0

not to mention, the slower it comes off the less likely to get stretch marks and have flabby skin. Have you ever seen people who have had gastric bypass? A lot of times they lose weight so fast their skin doesn't have a chance to adjust and recoil and it's real flabby under their arms or their abdominal apron0 -
I did 23 in 16 weeks, but some weeks were 3-4 lbs and some weeks were 0 (or even + 1-2).
Looking at the average, I was going at about 1.5.
Lot's of people lose rapidly at first, the slow down a bit. Don't get discouraged if that happens to you, or if you have some "growth" weeks. Sometimes the body just has variations.0 -
According to your ticker, you now have about 40# to go, so aiming for 1# a week would be ideal at this stage. As you get closer to your goal, you should aim for a half pound a week.0

I'm heading into my 3rd week and have lost 8lbs so far with 2 to 3 lbs loss a week.
I think that is good amount a week.0 -
I think that the recommended is 1-2lbs per week, but it also depends on your size.
That is incredible that you have lost 11lbs already. Sounds like you are staying focused with your clean eating and exercise. Keep up the good work!0 -
Excellent! I appreciate a lot your comments.. It looks like I´m in a good path.0
