ive been in a bit of a rut lately. i have been doing an awesom job with watching my food intake. and i have been using lots of caution. i love to work out and sweat! it generally puts me in a better mood, and i have way more energy when i am finished. i have the biggest loser cardio max dvd and no more trouble zones with jillian michaels. lately though i have been pretty bored with them, and i feel like i am forcing myself to do the work out. my hubby thinks im nuts for wanting more work out dvds, but i like to have the added motivation, and i like having the two different videos so i am doing something different when i want to switch it up.

i really wanna purchase the zumba fitness dvd pack, and i want it to be my birthday present to myself. it just looks like so much fun, and i know a few people who have used the program and have seen results. is it silly to purchase yet another workout dvd??? i know i will stick with it bc i do stick with the ones that i have now i just feel like ti is such a chore now..... has anyone done zumba??

    It's fantastic fun - you'll love it. It's helped me lose 54lbs .....
  • Go for it, they are great. You should get the first set of DVDs. They are cheaper and got better reviews on Amazon.

Zumba is great and I recommend checking it out. I also like the Tae Bo videos. After only 2 weeks I really noticed a difference in my entire body. My arms, back, butt and legs have all firmed up and my love handles have slimmed down. Variety is what will keep us motivated!

I have Zumba 1on the Wii and Zumba 2 on the Kinects, and love them both..
  • Zumba is a very fun workout! You will definitely work up a sweat, its great!
  • i've got the whole package and it is amazing, you get toning sticks, cardio cd, flat abs cd, toning cd and a step by step routine so you can learn all the steps and it also includes a booklet that had workouts for different targets, e.g drop a dress size in 10 days or toning up and also has diets, i love it because it's not like other workouts that become boring after a while, ive had zumba for a while and have seen positive results, you should get it:)
  • Hi, ive been taking zumba classes since Aug. an really enjoy it.It really is fun an there are all types of body types there. Also you really do sweat...and lov. the music..

I would try taking a class first and making sure you like Zumba before buying them. I bought them because everyone was saying how fun and how awesome Zumba is. So I spent 120 on them (it was when they first came out) and find Zumba SO BORING. I barely break a sweat doing it. Plus I think the guy on the DVD's is really annoying. After I bought them I did go take a Zumba class with a friend and I did feel worked out after that class, but I'm pretty sure that was from the first 2 classes we did before Zumba.

I don't know anything about Zumba but I don't blame you for wanting more DVDs. I have over 25. This time of year BJs and Walmart have a much better selection and for dirt cheap.
  • It is sooooo fun. I have no rhythm, I am not a dance person...but it's a blast. I take an hour and fifteen minute class and the time just FLIES by.

I just downloaded a bunch of Zumba workouts, but I don't know if I'll do them. I tend to be lax about working out at home, hence why I sign up at the adult schools for workout classes :)

DO IT!! You will not regret it! I bought the 4 DVD set from Amazon for about $50 and have never looked back. LOVE the Zumba. Love it! I haven't tried the Exhilarate set yet, but am looking forward to adding it. Seriously, if you enjoy dancing and don't care about looking like a crippled giraffe while learning the choreography, buy the DVD's.

I went through 4 different exercise DVD programs (Hip Hop something or other, Jillian Michaels 30DS, Dancing with the Stars and something else) before finding that Zumba fit the bill perfectly.

I don't feel bad about dropping loads of cash on fitness DVDs. I see it as money that I won't have to spend on future doctors visits or insulin shots.

Do whatever you gotta do to keep motivated and keep working out! I have taken a few Zumba classes, and they are lots of fun. My feet kept going numb though, so I stopped doing it. I am currently doing ChaLEAN Extreme, but when this 90 day program is up, I might go back for more Zumba. I am not sure yet. I think that maybe as I become more fit, my feet are less likely to go numb. I could be kidding myself though.

The best workouts are the ones you do often and consistently. If Zumba was a lot of fun, then you should do it some more!

Feet might be going numb because of the shoes you're wearing. I know my Fila's kill my feet if I try to wear them while doing Zumba. I got a pair of Puma's (can't remember the "model") that seem to work better, but I really want dance/jazzercise shoes. I think it's the sideways movement, especially from the Salsa, that makes the feet cranky.

I bought the tape years ago (I think when it very first came out, it wasn't expensive back then b/c it wasn't so popular...it was a tape, so you can tell how long ago it was) and couldn't follow it, and I kinda gave up (and got rid of the tape, wish I hadn't now!) . I don't know about the new dads, but I would say that stick to it if you can! What I'm learning about the live class (I've only gone 5 times so far) is that there is a learning curve, but I think once you get the hang of the moves, it is definitely worth it! (The same reason I keep going back to the Cher Step video I have... I have the moves down, so it's fun!)

I love zumba, take a class twice a week. I have zumba for the wii as well, not my favorite. I actually like all the 'just dance' games better.

  • If you like t a great cardio workout, you will LOVE Zumba Fitness. The DVDs are awesome, but you should definitely try a live class too!!! I am a Zumba Instructor for 6 years now. I mysef have lost over 65 lbs and have toned up at the same time. So many of my students have also changed their bodies wth this workout! The best part is that you feel like your at a Party! You can burn up to 1000 calories. Zumba also has a video game for Wii and Xbox. Give it a try you won't be sorry. :  :
