I haven't had a single day where i haven't exceeded either my sugar or fibre limit, or both. Is this normal? or should i be making changes?

You should always go way over fiber. Women need 30 mg a day, men need 35-40. I am not sure why mfp sets it so low...way below accepted guidelines. I cant speak for sugar.0

I usually go over my sugar when I eat fruit, but since it's natural, I don't worry too much about it... Where is your sugar coming from?0

if your sugar is from fruit or dairy and you have no underlying health issues don't worry about it. The sugar limit on here for me is "added sugars" not the stuff found in eating an entirely natural fruit.
You can customize your fiber to be higher if you want

Getting enough fiber is a good thing! As long as you're drinking lots of water I wouldn't worry about your fiber number being too high. As far as sugar, reduce it gradually. I started out with putting 2 tablespoons of sugar on my oatmeal, and I've gradually reduced it to 2 or 3 teaspoons. I also eliminated sugar from my smoothies, at first I'd put a tablespoon of sugar and now I've gotten used to it without (frozen mango adds a lot of sweetness). I don't use sugar substitutes, they're expensive, I just try to use less sugar. It takes practice.0

I eat a fair amount of fruit, but seeing it be so over makes want to stop eating it. And i also don't know what else to eat because i have such a sweet tooth! Sometimes ill have something i bake or a square of a chocolate bar but thats not every day. Ive been told that even the sugar in fruit can make you gain weight or keep you from losing. I don't know who to believe !0

Don't ever worry about going over on fiber! Fiber = good. MFP has it set way too low anyway!
Sugar, ugh. I've tried to watch my sugar on here but I would always end up way over...So I just stopped tracking it, lol. If you eat fruit then you're guaranteed to be over0 -
I don't even track sugar just carbs, protein, calories (of course), fiber and potassium. It can set what you track under settings I think.0

According to one websites, you should have at least 40 grams of fiber a day. My gastroentologist suggested 35 a day. I try to stick to the 40 grams a day and that means a lot of beans, veggies etc.
How Much Fiber Per Day?
A person on a 2000 calorie diet needs at least 28 grams of fiber per day. The USDA recommends 14 grams of fiber for every 1000 calories consumed.

I have found the MORE fiber you eat, as well as water you drink, the happier your digestive system is.
As far as sugar, if you eat more than one piece of fruit a day, you will probably exceed your sugar requirments. Cut back if you are concern. I eat a lot of veggies and find some contain a lot of sugar as well. If my sugar is coming from high fiber sources, I do not worry to much. If sugar is coming from soda, sweets, processed foods, I would use those red numbers as a guide to cut back.
Good luck on all your choices.0 -
