Low carb to low calorie semi low carb?

HI! I've been doing low carb off and on for about a year now. I've been thinking about focusing more on my calories and workouts than carbs. I honestly feel stupid when I do low carb.. That's not just being lazy and not wanting to low carbs...I just feel dumb and tired.. This coming from a straight A student.... SMH......... Thoughts?

    Carbs are used to power the brain so that is probably why you feel dumb. I lower my carbs by not eating any grains / potatoes / rice etc - get my carbs from fruit and veges, and that works well for me. I also stick to 1200 calories per day (which is the BMR for the weight I want to be).
