ok, i have been reading tons of posts on min calories, etc... now this whole thing kinda has confused me greatly since day 1 of trying to loose weight back mid nov. My question to all of you experts is when doing your settings, how do you refer to lightly active? is that working out 3 or 5 times a week, 30 min or more? etc... i'm just trying to see if i have had my setting correct the last few months, things have grealty chnaged with me currently, so i think i am more on the ball now but if i go back to exercising more again, i want to know where the "drawing line" is and when to up it to lightly active vs sedentary.. thx

My understanding is that intentional exercise does not count toward your activity level. I have mine set as sedentary ---- I work a desk job and rarely get up from my computer. And I love nothing more than to be a couch potato in the evenings. But, I exercise 6 days a week.0

ok thanks, that is what was confusing me. my job varies from day to day, some days you are moving more and others not much as i work with infants. In the summer i take them for 45 min walks, etc. I was doing 5-7 days of exercise 45-60min... and now it's gone down. 3 if i'm lucky 5 times and 30 min each time. so i wasn't sure if i get my motivation back up and start doing more, if i needed to change it. plus when summer comes and i'm out moving more if i should change it or just leave it the same?0

Change it when you start going out more!
I put sedentary - I work with children at home and I spend most of the day playing on the floor with them. I log EVERYTHING from our afternoon dance, working out, etc into exercise.0 -

This is how I understand it, and how I approach it, too. Your activity level isn't really referring to your workouts, but rather how much you move around outside of working out. If you work on your feet, or have kids, you'd probably be light or moderate. If you work in construction or teach aerobics or something along those lines, you'd be very active. At the same time, if you log those activities as exercise, you should reduce your activity level.0 -

I wouldn't base it on exercise, but rather your daily activity. I am a new mom and when my baby was really little and I wasn't super active I had it set to sedentary. Now that he is 10.5 months and I am on the go all day I have changed it. I noticed between him and keeping up with the house I was literally not sitting down until after he went to bed. I log exercise whenever I do it.0

See that is what gets me confused as one day is so different to the next with me. I don't want to be changing my settings daily. Like yesterday I didn' t move much but today I am completely on the go. I want to make it the easiest I can so I stop getting discouraged with this weight loss, as it has been going so slow as it is.0
