Simple, yet effective exercises

I am in need of some simple, yet effective exercises to do early in the AM while the kiddos sleep. I am not much of a morning person and I have been working on getting up about 30 minutes earlier than usual, but the exercises that I have been suggested to try are not working me as much as I want them too, I want to feel the burn! Any ideas? I have a big ball I have been using to do situps, and a very limited set of barbells to use.

Using your own body weight by doing lunges, push ups, and then pilates are good morning work outs. All you need is yourself!0

Wall sits are good, alternate legs so ur doing one leg at a time, ur quads will be on fire0

Push ups, squats, lunges, and there is a ton of stuff you can do with the ball....maybe google it, and I'm sure you can find a ton. You can use the ball for chest press with weights, lean over it for biceps with weights, do push ups with your toes on the ball, etc etc. I love pyramid work outs, which you can do with light, med, and heavy weights. Follow this routine:
For example, you are going to do bicep curls. Follow this:
10 reps with lightest weight
8 reps with medium weight
6 reps with heaviest weight
8 reps with medium weight
10 reps with lightest weight
Do these without breaks between the change of weights. If you aren't dying by the end, you aren't using heavy enough weights. Good luck!0 -
yoga, squats and lunges, localized cardio (i.e. jumping jacks, running in place, jump roping, stepping up and down on a stool), using a chair to do lifts with your arms or legs, make heavier weights out of empty juice or milk containers (fill them with water or sand)0
