Tough Mudder! While I wouldnt say it is totally "fun" it is the most amazing race you will ever expirence. If you can do this race, you will be able to do anything. I did it in December and I plan on doing it evertime it comes to Florida!

Your local run store is the best source to find races. Active.com and runningintheusa.com are good online resources.

    Good luck

I'm pretty sure I'll be running in the Seattle/Tacoma Zombie Race for Your Life so this is a great thread of other races I'd like to check in.

I'm doing the Warrior Dash Washington in July. Google Warrior Dash and see if there's one in your state.

Oooops sorry, I just saw that you said you already knew about this one. :blushing: :ohwell:

    Found another neat one:

This one looks good! I hope they are coming to the Chicago area. I live in Illinois, too. I did the Super Bowl Shuffle 5K in Geneva yesterday.

Here is a link to one I plan on doing. You get to run two times around the track at the Chicago Speedway (5K total).

Depending on where you live, you can check out the Tough Mudders and ones like it. they are growing huge in popularity and do not focus on how long it takes you to finish, just that you DO finish...5 to 10 mile courses with 20-30 obstacles....so it is not a straight boring run, you have chances to stop, and overcome an obstacle....doing my first one fist of April in WI.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but www.runningintheusa.com has a race search feature in which you can seach by location and type of race.

Also, here in Cambridge they do an Oktoberfest 5k and a Yule 5k with yummy craft beer at the end!

I'd love that too much, but seeing as how beer is how I put on most of my weight to begin with, I may need to steer clear of that! Haha.

My brother and sister-in-law are doing the Skirt Chaser 5K in Tempe, AZ. Here's the description:

    The Race
A Skirt Chaser. Literally. Women start first, while men wait in anticipation for three LONG minutes. Once the men FINALLY start the chase is really on! What happens next is just over 3 miles of anticipation: Will the gals be caught? Will the guys get the thrill of not only the chase but also the win?

Since I know my brother is much faster than his wife, three minutes is NOT enough of a head start.
