On the Dr. Oz show today they talked about raspberry ketones as a supplement to assist with weight loss. If you have tried them, please share your experience. Thanks in advance for sharing.

The only supplement I use is whey protein and that's only on my days where I just can't hit protein target without it.

The rest of them to me are snake oil.

Aren't ketones something that our bodies produce? You know, when people pee on the stick to turn it purple on Atkins. So it's Raspberry pee? I'm confused.

I saw that today, too... I would love to know if anyone has taken them. At least it is natural! No Hydroxycut or whatever!!;) I found the eating for your body interesting too. I have the big belly and have figured out the fat, protein, carb stuff a lot on my own over the years.:)
  • I wouldn't listen to anything Dr. Oz has to say anymore.

The evidence that raspberry ketones has any effect on weight loss has only been tested on animals with very little to no effect on weight loss at all. Nothing significant. Purely anecdotal and another n=1 story that they showed.

Because of lack of clinical data, I wouldn't waste the money

I haven't tried it, but I don't do fat burners. From what I can find out it aids in fat oxidation, but of course there's always context and dosage to take into account, especially in supps that are not regulated. Apparently no human trials have been done, and the few animal trials where the dose was extreme, did show some positive results, but others showed no significant difference......basically it's a good story to sell fat burners and seperated you from your money. Like most fat burners and considering RS is extremely expensive I suspect the doasage to be quite minimal, merely associated with another magic formulation for sale to the deperate. imo
