Trying not to cry

I knew I had gained weight. I gain weight faster than most people, I think, but today when I was out walking...at least I'm trying...I saw a friend that I hadn't seen in about 3 months. She said, "What happened to YOU? You look so DIFFERENT!"
I knew I had gained weight, just didn't know I looked like someone had hooked up the fat hose to me and said, "Fill 'er up! I am trying not to cry.
More determined than ever to bring the sexy me back.

In three months, people will say the same thing, but for a different reason :flowerforyou: Good luck!0

Awww! Chin up! That "friend" has no manners at all and obviously isn't a very quality person. Try not to take what she said to heart. Consider the source.
Regardless of what you weigh now or then, you're the same person inside and you're beautiful. :flowerforyou:0 -
Well you will be thanking that person i 6 months when you get the opposite reaction! They probably didn't mean to be cruel but at least they opened your eyes. Good luck on your journey!0

I think some people dont think before they speak... but its better they didnt hold back because if you feel like you put on weight and she didnt say anything... all you would think was "did she think I was fat?!?!"
stay positive, stay focused!0 -

That's not as bad as the time my husband's aunt stopped by, after we hadn't seen her for a few years. She was about the rudist person I've ever met, cuz she went on and on about how much weight I'd gained! I couldn't believe it! People can THINK stuff like that all they want, but geez, how rude to go on and on about it. To this day I still have a hard time looking at the woman! I wouldn't even talk to her for a good year or more afterwards, and am still not comfortable around her, even though I've lost the weight again!
Anyway though, enough of that! Now I'll say hi, and welcome you to THE best site on the web! :flowerforyou:
Between the easy to use food counter (which by the way is SUCH an eye opener!) and all the wonderfully supportive members, you WILL be able to lose the weight that you want to, AND, it'll "almost" be easy doing it!
I recommend logging ALL your foods BEFORE you have them, rather than later, as it tends to lead to better food choices. (not to mention you'll know if you've got enough numbers left to have a night time snack, like I ALWAYS try to do!) Some people also like to weigh and measure some things, such as meats, rather than just estimating and possibly being WAY off! :noway:
Don't go making the mistake that if you have LOTS of numbers left at the end of the day that you'll lose even faster, because that DOESN'T happen. Feel free to read any info about the site in the "help" section at the top of the home page. And also, under "all topics", then "general", and check out the first few threads. They'll really help you understand how MFP works.
Before coming here, I had tried just about EVERYTHING out there, including hypnosis, TWICE, and nothing really worked until MFP!
Also, drink LOTS of water, it REALLY DOES help! :drinker:0 -
Use the determination.
Make her eat her words in three months time.

I know how depressing it is!!! It makes you not even want to see people who you haven't seen in a while....I'm there.... BUT (and that's a big BUT) That is even more of a reason for us to keep our butts moving!!! I have started and stopped dieting so many times...I'm sick of it... THIS time...ITS FOR REAL!! No more of the damn yo yo'ing. I'm want a better, healthier, sexier me. AND I want stop until I get it...and even then, I am committed to staying healthy!!
You can do this. We all have it in us to do better; to be better. The only think stopping us is US. Lets do this....Lets make those people we haven't seen in a while FREAKIN' JEALOUS that we look so good!!! Lets set good examples to those around us to be healthier!!!
If you cry...get a good cry in and then pull yourself up by your boot strapes and be that much more dedicated to this you who is inside dying to break free!! We CAN do this!!!!0 -
Thank all of you for your encouraging words. I didn't realize how nice it is to know that I'm not alone. Today has been good day. Getting ready to go and walk on my lunch hour. Buoyed by your words. Excited because I know I can do this. Finally, my mind is right and pretty soon my body will be tight. I'm sexy now...can't wait for my before and after. I'll keep you posted.
Thank you, again.
