when i run long or hard, inside my nose starts to smell like ammonia. its not my sweat, just inside my nose.
i googled it, and most people say it means you've burnt all your carbs and are starting to burn protein.
i don't eat much meat, so i eat alot of carbs in turn, never really short myself. (though i try not to go over).
does this happen to anyone else? does anyone have a solution?
is it really bad for you?

No answers for you, but I would recover with a high protein food within twenty minutes of your workout. Greek yogurt is a good one. I hope you find some answers.
  • If you are burning protein, it isn't from the food you eat, but from your muscles.

I seem to recall that this can be linked to diabetes - though I'm not sure if I'm correct.
It might be worth checking this with your doctor.
  • see a doctor- ammonia smell is a diabetes indicator

I get the same thing once in a while it is also a sign of not enough water and electrolytes. Drink some gatorade before working out, you'll be good as soon as you are done.
