Shake diets

I recently bought some meal eplacement shakes to use as a meal replacement once a day.

I was having a read on their website and noticed that for accelerated weightloss they recommend 800 calories per day!!!! I don't think i could survive on that but i was wondering if done for only a couple of weeks it may give a boost. Even if i decide to do it i don't think that i could stick to that total as i also execise.

Has anyone ever tried shakes to help get you started and then continued weight loss on your own?

I replace breakfast with a shake that's only 100 calories, but I think 800 calories a day is a bit drastic! I could never live on that! That' few calories could put your body into starvation mode and actually make you hold onto or gain weight. It messes with your metabolism! If you're looking for a great tasting meal replacement shake that is chock full of other nutrients, I've copied and pasted what I take for you:
