Hello!

Has anyone ever tried Raspberry Ketone supplements? I saw them on Dr. Oz yesterday and I'm curious as to whether they actually work? Any doctors or nutritionists out there who want to shed some light?

Thanks,
aml

Are you a mouse? If you are, awesome job on learning to type and speak english. If you're not, there isn't much evidence it's effective for humans

I saw that too, and would love to know if they work. I know there are no miracle pills, but even if they help a little-I would be willing to try them.

We have a mouse. He's so cute. His name is Mister Mouse. But now I'm kind of disappointed, the only trick he does is run in a wheel and eat dog biscuits. :-(

If it's on Dr. Oz...9 times out of 10, it's not legit. This so called supplement has only been tested on mice, hence Acg's comment above.

It will help you lose weight in the form of money coming out of your wallet, never to return again.

This, and 9/10 is probably generous.

    found this... http://www.weighttraining.com/supplements/raspberry-ketone
Raspberry Ketone is primarily used for its aroma, although raspberry ketone supplements are frequently used for weight loss. These chemical compounds are found naturally in raspberries and although there is no scientific evidence to back up their ability to help people lose weight, they are considered safe for food use by the FDA.

Whether raspberry ketone works for weight loss or not is unknown and, although it is safe for use, the concentrated amounts found in raspberry ketone supplements may be cause for concern. Each supplement pill supposedly contains the equivalent of 1,000 raspberries, which goes beyond the general rule of everything in moderation, including fruits and vegetables.

Furthermore, the way raspberry ketone supplements work as a weight loss pill is reminiscent of the concept promoted by the Atkins diet. If you rob your body of carbohydrates then your body will resort to burning fat. However, your body needs carbohydrates to function correctly, and if you have an excess of protein you can develop medical complications.

Therefore, raspberry ketone supplements should only be taken with complete consideration of the benefits and consequences. As an aromatic fragrance raspberry ketone is considered safe, but when taken in high dosages it may not be so.
  • Last year the big deal was Acai Berry, and they did nothing for me, I find alot of these new wonders hokey!!

I saw that too and was curious. It seems they are sold out a lot of places now too after being on the show. I think it's worth a try but like Dr. Oz said it isn't a magic pill and you still need to exercise and eat well.
  • Holy cow - wouldn't it just be easier to put a cup of raspberries into your protein shake in the morning, work out really hard and call it good?

Raspberry ketones...the weightloss industry is running out of miracle supplements....

Not only is it not a magic pill....it's worthless. Save your money and stick to what you know works.
  • @Acg:

Thanks, I can read. I am aware that there have only been studies done on mice which is why I posted the question asking if any doctors or nutritionists had input.

Doctors or nutritionists aren't going to have more information about something for which studies have not been done....what do you think they would honestly have to say? I'm betting it's along the lines of "beware of quick fixes for weight loss that are untested on humans, they are many times a scam".

Hmm...I don't know. It doesn't sound crazy enough to work.
