When you tell people you are trying to lose weight, they seem to think you're saying, "How can I lose weight?" My mom, God love her, is the queen of terrible advice on weightloss and fitness. For one thing, she's done every fad diet known to man and doesn't exercise at all. Just the other day, she told me to take Musinex DM to help with weightloss (b/c the main ingredient acts as an appetite supressant).

What's the terrible advice you've been told?

Well, speaking of mothers ... mine has never been over weight a day in her life. She doesn't understand why anyone "has to go on a diet." Her one size fits all solution is ..... smaller portions.

I try to explain that smaller portions of crappy food is STILL crappy food. Some people don't know what healthy food is (she does know ... but not everyone else does).

Are we related, lol??? My mom not only says that all the time, but she'll send me newspaper/magazine articles anything Dr-Oz-related. :)

See my issue isn't my mom.... but a person I know who has too much time on her hands and believes everything Google tells her is correct. She is fad diet queen, and also manages to burns 1000's of calories without very much effort........
