I am having a hard time finding the calories for baked kale with EVOO, salt, and pepper. TIA!

Kale comes up, but with different recipes. I think it is more like cabbage?

I think I'll just use raw kale and a tsp of EVOO separately.

It's gonna highly depend on the amount of olive oil you use. Raw Kale in is the database. I'd just create a recipe with the ingredients you used to make yours instead of relying on some recipe someone else entered.

I use the spray olive oil, just enough to keep the garlic powder and salt on it. I agree if someone is pouring tablespoons of olive oil it is going to drive up the calories.

Raw Kale is in the database... but from the back of the bag it is 25 calories per 3 cup (85 gram) serving. So, depending on how much olive oil you use when baking it, just weigh it out BEFORE you bake it because it definitely shrinks during cooking.

You should track it separately. EVOO has a lot of calories (100 cals per tbs).

Can I ask what kind of a dish baked kale is? I love kale but always just "fry" it, well 1 spray of 1 cal oil then top that up with water, pop a lid on it to steam it, I do this with onions and garlic going in first and although I love this dish I'm always after other healthy kale dishes.

Its the only way to get my husband to eat kale.

@mixedfeelings, baked kale is not really a dish, more like a snack. It makes them crispy, like chips.

Go to your diary, then on the upper righthand side it says Recipes. Click on that and you can make your own recipe- just measure out your evoo and add however much kale you used, and then if you ate the whole thing say that it was a recipe for one person, so the whole recipe is one serving (or however many servings you made!) I make recipes almost every day for the stuff I make, it's a quick way to go back and quick add things you make everyday (I can quick add my smoothies, pizza dough, oatmeal, etc).
