Anyone swim with a Polar F11 HRM?

I've had this HRM since 2008, it is my LIFE!!! I just started working out with a swimmer who rocks my butt off in the pool and I'd like an acurate caloric burn. I recall my HRM being water resistant, but I want to know if anyone actually uses it in a pool? Chest strap and watch.

Thanks!

I have an FT7, took it in the pool too. The problem is not the water proof-ness, it is that the chlorine and even salt water will keep the transmitter from getting the signal all the way to the watch for some reason. It is kind of strange.

I tried to use my F-11 in the pool and was unable to get the HR transmitted too. I think the old style of strap/transmitter works in chlorinated water.

The all plastic one? I have both styles... the one where the transmitter snaps in and the one were it's all one big plastic piece....

I have an FT4 and if I went completely underwater, it wouldn't transmit my HR. I went to a water park this weekend and wondered why it wouldn't trasmit that often! It seems to do ok if I do a stroke on top of the water, but I'm going swimming tomorrow and I'm anxious to see how it does in a pool at the Y.

Pamela3 if you google Polar F11 swimming you will get a couple of links you may want to look at.

i've swam many times with my polar ft4 in a pool. I tired using it in an ocean swim, but the salt was causing interference.

I've seen many posters say they have no problems swimming with their ft4..as soon as I got in under the water and started doing laps i lost the hr transmission.
i tried it twice..thought maybe the strap wasn't on right at first.
