12 1/2 hour work shifts

Hey guys,

I work 12 1/2 hour work shifts 7am-7:30pm, and I find it hard to stay on track on these days. For anyone who works long shifts, what do you eat to keep yourself full/energized?

    I'm an ICU nurse who works 7p-7a and I usually pack fruit and dry cereal (like multi grain cheerios or honey nut cheerios) to snack on throughout the night to keep me from eating junk. I work 3 nights and it usually works 2 out of the 3 nights for me

    oh and for those nights where I just can't stay awake I take one caffiene pill (200mg) instead of drinking energy drinks or eating sweets. That way you get the energy but not the calories. But I don't recommend that to often, I do it maybe once a week
