Yes we're all on here to loose weight for self and health, blah blah, blah....But many times people have other "motivations" like kids, a cute boy, one airline seat....you know.

Wondering if anyone else is on here working to loose weight for their line of work. I am and could use that shared goal motivation!

Eventually I think it would be fun to be a cop. Right now I'm their dispatcher. And with a little weight loss I'd pass the physical. Well I could probably pass now but I would prefer to be much more fit ;)

I'm in the same position as rolliepollie.. Dispatcher currently and I'm trying to lose 110 to get into the State Academy :)

I'm currently in school to work in physical therapy. I've got to be strong and healthy to be effective at my future job and to be a good example to those I'll work with. Plus, I hope to work the the VA and I've found grumpy old soldiers work harder to impress pretty, thin girls than fat, frumpy ones.

I really am in love with Pure Barre. Part of me dreams of being an instructor on the side. But you need to have an inspiring body to be a fitness instructor right? LOL
They are hiring for a new Pure Barre opening in town -- I asked to join and they contacted me back for an audition./interview. I know legally they have to do this. . . I can execute all of the moves perfectly. I know the form and how to teach people as I was a piano instructor in the past. I also took a lot of dance in college so I have timing! I would be really GREAT at this job! The only problem is the belly.
Instead of going through the interview and being told no for whatever lame reason . .. I backed out thanking them for their offer of interview but I have thought a lot about it and wish to reach some goals first before applying again.

Kind of. I have a degree in criminal justice and I'm sure that my weight has been an issue for some of the jobs I interviewed for, although it was never said.

    Inadvertently - yes I am!

I'm losing weight to have more energy in the day. And where do I spend most of my days? At work!

Energy creates energy. I get so gobsmacked when I realise that the more energy I spend, the more energy I have. So yes, I've been bouncing around this building as a result of it!
