My New Years Resolution this year was to loose weight and get in shape. I am 26, borderline high blood pressure and my cholesterol isnt that great either. I have a 7-year-old with ADHD that keeps me on my toes a lot.

I have completely changed my eating habits. I went from eating sugary cereals for breakfast to eating organic granola cereal. For lunch I used to eat fast food, now I eat salad every day. And then I eat a sensible dinner. I do drink a lot of pop, and the habit is hard to kick. Ive lost about 4 pounds and then all of a suddenly nothing. Ive even joined a gym and go a few times a week and work out for at least a half an hour or swim laps for half an hour. I'm feeling very discouraged and could use some tips/advice.

Thanks in advance.

Take it slow and don't do anything you won't be able to stick with long term. Its about a healthy lifestyle and not a short term diet.
Small changes make a big difference over the long run. Healthy foods and portion control. :drinker:

Don't get discouraged by plateaus in the way the scales changes - its just your body sorting itself out - adjusting to the new way of life , building muscle etc.

try looking at other indicators body fat%, inches lost, ( take your body measurements) how you feel, and how your clothes fit! you are not a robot and the body wont keep dropping weight at the same rate all the time as it adjusts, and does othere crazy things

So take the opportunity of the plateau to refocus and readjust. Could you add a walk to the shops rather than walking or go to the park with your child and run around or even try some strength/weight lifting exercises. IS there an unhealthy habit you could be working on. would it work better to divide 3 meals into 5 or add some healthy snacks to keep the metabolism going and stop you blood sugar crashing and maybe help with the pop habit :)

good luck and let us know how you get one!
