I use the Pandora app on my phone and listen to the LMFAO station. Not typically my type of music but it is so fast and upbeat it makes me want to run faster and not look at the time.
  • I also love Pandora! :) I use that when I'm tired of my own playlist or to get some new ideas.

Maybe this will help everyone. I found this not too long ago on Pinterest. It's 200 running songs that cover almost every genre!

Pandora junkie here too. They have cardio dance stations if you search fitness. It's a mix of music, but everything is upbeat and might take you back a couple years. :)

    Thanks!! :) Just pinned it!
  • I found yesterday that Telephone by Lady Gaga & Beyonce is my ideal workout song because I can't help but go as fast as the beat! So I did a 'genius' playlist on iTunes and it's been working well for me while I use my exercise bike. It's very poppy but it's brilliant! Takes my mind off exercising and it's all very easy to listen to, if that makes sense.

My taste is... different. Here's some of my playlist...

    "Disco Traxx" - Ladytron
"The Plague (v 4-1)" - Diary of Dreams
    "Hearbeats" - The Knife
    "The Reeling" - Passion Pit
    "The Fall" - Gary Numan
    "Fearless" - VNV Nation

With the exception of Passion Pit, you're probably not going to hear much of it on mainstream radio. It all has a beat, though.

I'm a distance runner so I'm not aiming for speed, but I have playlists based on tempo. They're extremely diverse and not for everyone but when I'm running long distances I need variety.

http://jog.fm/ is a great site to find what works for you, but my playlists are as follows.

    9 minute mile pace:
Cheers (Drink to That) - Rihanna
Show Me How You Burlesque - Burlesque (movie)
    Hey Ya! - OutKast
Sugar, We're Goin Down - Fall Out Boy
Forever - Drake, Kanye, Lil Wayne, Eminem
What I Like About You - The Romantics
One Way or Another - Blondie
The Middle - Jimmy Eat World
    Strip Me - Natasha Bedingfield
    Drops of Jupiter - Train
Pretty Girl Rock - Keri Hilson

    10 minute mile pace:
Harder to Breathe - Maroon 5
Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison
Dog Days are Over - Florence + the Machine
    Sk8er Boi - Avril Lavigne
Only the Good Die Youn - Billy Joel
We Got the Beat - The Go-Go's
You Found Me - The Fray
What the Hell - Avril Lavigne
We're Not Gonna Take It - Twisted Sister
The Great Escape - Boys like Girls
    Run - Snow Patrol
    Bottoms Up -Trey Songz
