New to My fitness

Hello from sunny Florida. I just started a couple of days ago because I really need to lose weight. Looking forward to tips and motivation.

    You can do this! Just some basic rules to follow (and I definitely need to follow my own advice!!)
    1. Portion control!!
    2. More proteins than carbs. Do NOT cut carbs all the way out. They are what your body and brain use for fuel.
    3. Exercise more days than not. Try to mix cardio with strength/resistance training. Circuit training is awesome!
    4. Understand that this is a "marathon" and not a "sprint"! You will not shrink overnight! Keep going no matter what and don't quit!
    5. Stay positive! If you stray from the Diet/Fitness Straight and Narrow, dust yourself off and get back right.
    6. Remember that liquid calories are still calories!! Monitor your alcohol, sweet tea, lemonade, soft drink, ect intakes!

    Never give up on yourself :)

  • Welcome. I have found My Fitness Pal, and the people on it to be great for the most part.

    1. Portion Control is the best advise I can give you.
    2. Exercise when you can.
    3. Tons of water!
