Okay so I've been looking around for an answer to this question, how many mg of sodium is recommend per day. I've heard it should be 1500mg, but I've also read that it should be 2400mg...so what is it lol. I'm just looking for a number so I can stay under it >_<. Ty.

    According to the Mayo Clinic:

"The 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommend limiting sodium to less than 2,300 mg a day — or 1,500 mg if you're age 51 or older, or if you are black, or if you have high blood pressure, diabetes or chronic kidney disease."

    More here: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/sodium/NU00284

I read somewhere that the average person needs 500mg per day, but unfortunately, I don't remember where I read that.

500mg is a *minimum* requirement - We all need some sodium, just not as much as in most processed foods.
