Hi There!
I'm 25 years old and am trying to lose 100lbs. One hundred pounds that I have put on in the past 3-4 years ;-( I have always been kind of shy but since I started putting the weight on I have been completely withdrawn from my friends and family. I'm tired of being so unhappy, uncomfortable and tired. I found Myfitnesspal about three weeks ago and have since lost 7 lbs. I'm totally ready to turn my life around and start living!!
I'm looking for some friends who can help keep me motivated and who are or have gone through the same challenges as I concerning weight loss.

I think you will love myfitnesspal. It is by far the easiest "diet" I have ever tried. I've lost 40 lbs. so far, I lost 11 before starting the app and the rest with it. I don't feel deprived of anything.0

I know how you feel! Keep up the good work and just take it day by day! I have lost 60 lbs and I'm trying for another 40-50! I'll try to keep you motivated if you do the same! Good Luck and just know that you're not alone and that you are doing the hard part by getting started! It will come so much easier once you are a few weeks in! Best of luck and wishes! -wendy0

Hi
Well Done you losing that amount of weight already.
Just take it a day at a time set short term goals within the long term one which if you think about it cant be classified as a goal because reaching a goal signifies an end and changing ones lifestyle for the better is ongoing essentially a new different way of living with more benefits!
The short term goals are good and can be about exercise, relaxation, less stress, joining a course, socialising, studying etc; as much as about changing what you eat and how often. With the shortterm goals make sure you reward yourself with treats (not necessarily food it could mean a massage, going to movies, new shoes, a book etc;)
I think that looking after our most valuable asset our body, mind and soul is possibly the most important thing that we need to do.
We cannot achieve anything else without this asset so neglecting even abusing it is madness.
If we want perform well at work we need to look after ourselves physically and mentally, if we want to be loving and supportive partners we need to be fit healthy and happy, if we want to enjoy grandchildren, great nieces and nephews we need to be fit and healthy.
In my situation when I started MFP I had to really look at myself and I was shocked to find that I didnt like or value physical self. I had for many years abused my most valuable asset because in my warped state of mind it wasnt what I perceived as perfect. I thought it was defected. This was a great shock to me that to discover that I was my own worse enemy and that I was abusive towards myself.
Last year I stumbled on MFP and for the first 3 months I lost 13lbs but I have had to deal with the demons that I created over the last 30 years and so I have gained some of weight back (not all of it) and find myself back here at MFP ready to give it another go. I dont know what the next week will bring or the next month Im aiming to stick it out for as long as it takes to feel better and see change and beyond that but one thing I learnt about myself over the last year is that Im so worth the effort! and Im never ever going to give up trying.
