So it seems as if I can't lose much weight anymore

I have noticed that when I get on the scale my weight either stays the same or jumps up a pound. I have been watching my calories and watching what I eat. I try to stay away from sweets even though the last two weeks I have been having a piece of birthday cake maybe three times a week. I work out everyday and I've been adding weight work within my workouts everyday. People tell me that I've lost a lot of weight and I don't see it. And some people have told me that I've become more chiseled. When I work out I try to eat some of those calories back even though it is hard too seeing as I am a vegetarian and my appetite is not the best to be honest. I lose interest in food is what I am saying unless it is pizza or mac and cheese. This time last year I was on the roll of a life time. I weight aboot 215lbs when we came from the Christmas break and started the new semester. At the beginning of May I weighed 167lbs. Now I weight 175lbs.

I need help.

  • Hi, I'm feeling the same at the moment. If people are telling you that you're losing weight, it's because you are so trust them!!

People have suggested to me to make a change in my exercise or food intake to trick my body out of the plateau.
I'm gonna give it a try and see what happens.

    Good luck!
  • Also, if you're doing lots of work outs and adding weights maybe your "weight" gain is muscle build?

I'd say if you're working out with weights, you're probably swapping fat weight for muscle weight. That's a good swap to do...
  • yes people tell me i have lost weight yet i cant see it but i do believe if you were to take a picture of yourself now and compare it to a picture of what you looked like before youd go WOW i look so much better. i had to do that to see and realize the difference in myself as well. Dont get discouraged if you gain a pound or two.. most times it is just muscle weight, water gain, or ect. your inches are dropping off of you and you may not realize a big weight drop on the scale at first but in the end you will.

It is almost impossible to gain muscle on a calorie deficit.
