This is Dave's response to a letter I wrote him...i'm leaving MFP because it's no longer a place I enjoy being, people can no longer get along and that saddens me. I've met some really nice people on here, and some of you, perfect strangers helped me through some of the worst times....i'm forever grateful...but i'm moving on.....Peace to all of you, be kind to each other!

Re: leaving the boards
Body: come on....that would be a real bummer......whats up?

maybe just take a break?

I understand though......I will probably be banned...yesterday....some ladies were offended by me cuz i said fat chick about an imaginary chick but they took it personally

there is a real maturity problem here

hope you reconsider...I would miss you

Yeah unfortunately these places, as helpful as they may be, are full of crap. Boards always give anybody a voice. Most of the time it's not good. I wont be here forever either. I've been pretty sucked off a few times by more than a few people.

I'm sorry to see both of you go. Take care MG!!

Dave's style might not have always been the best approach but he was very helpful too. His goal was always just to provide some information that he has learned himself. I am sure we all know those "overly blunt/honest kind of people in our own lives. Personalities don't always mesh in "Real Life" so I'm not sure why they are expected to on here. If you don't like the way someone goes about something, just don't go into threads they are posting just as you wouldn't really "Hang out" with that person in life (or just ignore it and focus on the posts that are helpful to you).

Seems simple to me....and that we could all just do our own thing and be around those we get along with....and yet that just doesn't happen on here. Too many people complain about every little thing. The only time I have ever reported a person was when they either personally attacked me or were obviously trying to create drama where there didn't need to be any. :ohwell:

Anyway, good luck to both. :flowerforyou:

I guess a lot of it is what you make it. I have seen people post on here things that I totally disagree with. I may voice my opinion in the thread, or I may keep it to myself and get on with life. Everybody has an opinion and they will differ from other people. It is how you deal with it that is important.

If you allow it to get to you so much that you give up on something you enjoy, then maybe it is best that you back away.

Personally, I could not do without the meal logging and the exercise logging. It keeps me on top of things. The threads can be very helpful and I have got a ton of information from some knowledgable people. There is also a lot of nonsense on here too, but it works for somebody.

I love discussion. I love to listen to other people's points of view and hope they are willing to listen to mine. I wish everyone in our world would understand that everyone is entitled to think the way they do. We have freedom of thought. Some people's thoughts may make you uncomfortable but I have found that those opinions help me grow by either reinforcing what I believe or helping me to change views and attitudes. I love listening or in this case reading healthy discourse. I just wish some people were more willing to listen and stop being offended by other people's ideas. They have a right to their ideas!

    Another "Well said Tam!"

And I know that Dave is already gone but I did enjoy his posts. And teasing him about cool whip! I'll always think of him when someone offers me some.
MG, you are one of the most giving people I've met. I hope you continue to be the person you are. Inspiring and Caring.

Wow, I go on vacation and move so I'm off MFP for a while and when I get back I find two more wonderful people have left MFP. That is too bad. I wish Dave and Molson Girl the best of luck. I'll miss reading their posts.
