Hey girl, don't despair! Mix it up, try something you haven't done before in your workouts, like if you always walked or ran, do some weight lifting for a while and walk lightly until you feel more secure. You're awesome for getting back at it! So many would just give up, but no, YOU are BACK!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!0

Might want to try using an elliptical trainer. I have a bum knee and have no problem rockin out on that thing. Very little to no impact on the knees. Also, while I do not do them myself, I have heard that water aerobics are really good. Just some thoughts. Don't give up.0

Yep. Both me and my 17 year old daughter had to stop 30DS cause of knee pain while doing it. I didn't feel too bad cause she very athletic and in shape. :laugh:0

Listen to your body!
For me, if it's not one thing, it's another... I have struggled with injured feet, shin splints, knees, elbows, back, and wrists.
The best advice I can give you is to rest your injury a bit and then don't stop working out, just change your workout to something that works for your body.
I currently love spinning, elliptical and yoga.0 -
Don't get me wrong, I like Jillian Micheals but I just can't do her 30DS video. I had major knee surgery 10 years ago, and my knees will never be the same again. I thought that building up my strength in my knees would help, but just makes my knees hurt even worse. What I have found out that I can do most cardio in moderation. I do love Leslie Sansone!!!0

Believe it or not - 30DS is not the only workout dvd out there
Check out this YouTube channel for a variety of 10-20min workouts that are low impact but still effective. http://www.youtube.com/user/BeFit/videos
You can start with just 10 mins/day and as your fitness level improves, string together a couple of workouts.
Also, here's a playlist that I've put together with some of my favourites ...

I'm also a Leslie Sansone fan, and I adore my elliptical! Don't give up - just keep trying things until you find the right fit for you. :flowerforyou:0

HI - i have the same issue!!! my knees are killing me - (might be the extra 125 lbs I have on my frame) - So, I bought lighter weights today - going to try it with 3lb hand weights instead of the 5 pounders i had at home -
If that doesnt work I'm going to try the tread mill way - see if that helps.0 -
The 30 day shred hurt my knees and joints so bad too! I currently do rebounding on a soft bounce mini trampoline and kettlebell training. My body no longer aches after a workout. My muscles are sore but in a good way. Just try something new until you find something that you love and work for you. Good Luck!0

I agree, Leslie Sansone's Walk at Home videos are great & the best on those with hurting knees. This MFP page has free YouTube video links if you scroll down the page:

I also love this Tae Bo YouTube playlist; it doesn't hurt my knees & joints (unlike 30DS), I sweat a LOT more (ETA: than 30DS), & time flies by faster than the Leslie walks:

30DS is nothing to do 30 days straight. You'd die. I did 4 days straight and it was so bad I couldn't walk! Since I gotta walk I started to mix it up. I took the best of the 30DS and did it at the gym WITH yoga/stretch. I love it now. I think the idea is to have weight training with cardio. Lots of people forget to weight train. Using your own body weight is the easiest (yet hardest) way to get er done.
I'd say, shake it up. Swim, Zumba, Dance, Just SWEAT! That's the goal = heart rate up!
Get some awesome work out music and move!! Don't let that nasty b-i-t-c-h ruin it for you0 -
Just get up and do it. Don't make any excuses. Getting started is the hardest part, so just GO!0
