Can someone tell me what is the best margarine for low cals and low fat, I have tried flora extra light and asda light sunflower, but they still seem to have a lot of fat!!! I like marg in my sarnies and on toast and jacket spuds, but don't like how much of my allowance they take up.

Any suggestions?

I can't stand the flavour of any of them, so I use Hellmann's light for sandwiches and philiadelphia light or extra light on ryvita or jacket potatoes. (And I mix marmite and philly and eat it on ryvita and it just tastes as good as butter to me). I've not found anything that quite replaces real butter on real toast.

Both cream cheese and mayo light will be fewer cals and fat than LF marg/butter

I like proper butter, but use it sparingly. Husband has Benecol spread as he's watching his cholesterol, and daughter swears that Lurpak tastes the best on sandwiches. I think they do a lighter version, might be worth trying.

i like I can't believe it's not butter - Light. Half the fat of the full fat version and still tastes good x
