What works best for sore muscles and water retention?

All right everyone what do you use to help with sore muscles from working out and the water retention that comes along with that???? I recently started working out again and my muscles are letting me know it by being really sore and making me hold on to water like crazy. I've tried the high protein day and only lost a little water weight! What else can I do?

I have the same problem! My clothes fit better after working out, but the scale is always higher the harder I work out. Usually the morning after my rest day everything balances out and the scale goes back to normal. That's when my weight loss usually shows up.0
