Love pizza too! There's an awesome recipe on Pinterest for a crust made from cauliflower! Haven't tried it yet but my daughter has and she said it's excellent!

Omg i heard about the califlower idea and was like WHAT lol! thats mad... ill deffo have to give it a try though, the weirdest things always are lol <3 x:smile:
  • I found this recipe a while back and tried it...it was AMAZING!!!! My husband even loved it!! CauIiflower crust pizza...I am posting the original recipe and then the modifications she made that I followed...Try it...low carb, low calorie and really good!!!

    here's the original recipe http://blog.yourlighterside.com/2009/05/low-carb-pizza-dough-cauliflower.html

my whole pizza was 308... just the crust was 145 >>> with my changes though!

1cup of cauli rice - i use raw cauliflower processed to size of rice, then nuked 2 min

like I said I only used 1 ounce of cheese vs 1 cup
and 2tbsp of eggbeaters vs 1 egg or 1/4 cup egg beaters

put on parchment, bake at 450 til dark, edges look burnt.

take out add toppings, then pop under broiler.

if you want it to be "hand holdable" make sure you've cooked it long enough, but also let the final product cool about 5 min before eating it.... I am willing to sacrifice it being hand holdable for so few cals!

the pizza is about 9 inches

I made some chicken and bacon mini pizzas last week. I did this in a toaster oven (not the slotted kind), but it could be done in the oven as well.

Toaster Oven Mini Chicken & Bacon Pizzas (3 mini pizzas per serving, makes 2 servings)

Sandwich Thins Mini's 100% Whole Wheat - Bread, 3 rolls, separated (150 cal total)
Shredded Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese 6 Tbsp. (1 Tbsp per slice of mini thin) (120 cal)
Prego - Heart Smart Mushroom Sauce 6 Tbsp. (1 Tbsp per slice of mini thin) (53 cal)
Cooked Chicken Thigh 4 oz. (260 cal)
Great Value - Real Bacon Pieces, 2 Tbsp (60 cal)

Place the mini sandwich thins on toaster oven size baking sheet a Toasted the mini sandwich thins slightly to desired crispiness and then remove.
Add a tbsp of sauce per mini sandwich thin (should have 6 mini thins total), and spread it over the mini thin).
Add a tbsp of cheese to each mini thin.
Add chicken and bacon (or any other toppings you'd like).
Bake/toast until the cheese is melted. (Mine was done by setting it to just passed "Medium".
    Remove and enjoy!

Nutritional info per serving per MFP recipe builder:
    322 calories, 23g carbs, 12g fat, 36g protein, 670mg sodium, 5g fiber

For a vegetarian option I made for my dad the same thing as above, sans the meat of course, but topped with 2 Morningstar breakfast links cut into 9 slices each (3 slices per mini pizza).

Nutritional info per serving for the vegetarian version:
    182 calories, 24g carbs, 7g fat, 13g protein, 480mg sodium, 6g fiber

Because the vegetarian one is so low in calories, a double serving would be perfectly acceptable if you want more, or have it with a salad.

I like to sub portabello mushrooms or big zucchini slices for the bread, I love the bread but sometimes I don't have enough calories left to "spend" on that.

I like the real deal ........ sorry. This yeast is great, it's 1 step, no need to raise & punch down. **** Lower cal options

    Fleischmann’s Pizza Crust
    1 3/4 - 2 1/4 cups of flour
1 envelope Fleischmann’s Pizza Yeast (green package)
    1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
    3/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup of very warm water (120° to 130° F)
    3 tablespoons oil
Combine 1 cup flour, undissolved yeast, sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Add water and oil. Mix together until well blended; about 1 minute. Add ½ cup flour gradually until dough forms a ball. Add additional flour, if needed, to handle. Spoon dough out of bowl onto floured surface. Dough will be slightly sticky. Knead on floured surface. Knead until dough is smooth and elastic; about 4 minutes.
Press dough out to fill greased pizza pan. Top as desired with pizza sauce, cheese and toppings. Bake on bottom oven rack at 425° for 12 to 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and crust is brown.

**** Swap out some whole wheat flour for white & roll the dough really thin. Toppings - turkey pepperoni is much lower in fat. Use less cheese. Add more veggies. Yum!
  • Yay I love this post!

    My vegetarian homemade pizza option

Flat Out Wrap (Or a Byblos whole wheat Pita Bread.... depending on how many carbs I have for the day)
2 tbsp Medium Salsa (use as pizza sauce)
a few dashes of Franks Red Hot (put to taste... i usually do 6 dashes or more but i love spicy)
2 portions Black Diamond Gouda (shredded) (or 1 portion Gouda and 1/4 cup mozzarella... or if no gouda 1/3 cup of whatever shredded cheese i have on hand)
1/2 cup of baby spinach leaves
    1/4 cup onion chopped
1/4 cup chopped peppers (usually a mix of orange and red)
sprinkle of garlic powder, black pepper, Italian spice and crushed chilis

ALSO IF YOU DONT HAVE SALSA I JUST USE HOT SAUCE BY ITSELF

    Meat Option

pretty much the same as above, but I add sliced Schneiders Country Naturals oven roasted chicken breast (or turkey, or ham) or if i have leftover oven roasted chicken breasts (i use that) it just depending on what I have on hand.

Has anyone tried vitalicious new vita pizza yet? I am fond of their chocolately treats but want to take a survey on their pizza's before I order them.
