Have you ever had one of those days, when you are focused on your goals, you've had your fitness shake, your mind is right, then someone in the office walks by with some 'just warmed up food'. No matter what the dish is, it always smells like whatever your food 'weakness' is... I'M TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT PEOPLE!

Yes!!! I have had this happen before, when I was trying to lose weight using Slim Fast, or Weight Watchers...epic fail. Since I started MFP, I realized that the foods I am eating aren't the problem. It was the portion sizes, or the fact that I love Mexican food and my husband likes Chinese food. You can't eat Mexican for lunch and Chinese for supper, you will blow the roof off the house with all those calories. I still eat all my favorites but plan better for the high calorie meals that I love, and said goodbye to the shakes. I am the person who is heating up the smell good foods in the office now and losing weight too!!!0

well as im typing this i just received an office wide email that Sprinkles cupcakes are being served at 230 to celebrate someone passing the bar!
Thankfully those arent my weakness today! lol0 -
There is Chinese Food aromas wandering around the office as we speak. i'm just powering down water.0

Oh, I have a co-worker, who is also supposedly watching her weight, who has a desk covered in candy bars for people to take. I know she does it purposely to tempt me and it drives me nuts! :grumble:
So far I'm winning since I've not touched a single bit. :laugh:0 -
That happens every night to me. I have to cook up a delicious meal for the family and then cook up my much blander boring version of that meal for myself...it can be very depressing at times. :laugh:0

ALL the f*cking time lol0

They've been talking about donuts all day at work even though we're having a firmwide weight loss challenge. Seems like everything just revolves around food! Which is fine if you are not dieting but if you are, it becomes painfully obvious.0

Yup all the time - today there was a work lunch and I resented the temptation of macaroons, chocolate brownies, kettle crisps and lots more. I'm so chuffed that I did so I've had one of my lo fat,low cal homemade brownie after dinner tonight.0

Dude. That's just pure evil.0 -
It's usually the opposite for me. Most of my co-workers eat either frozen diet meals (Healthy Choice, Lean Cuisine, etc.) or fast food. I usually bring healthy leftovers and they constantly walk by my office saying how yummy it smells.0

All the time!! It sucks!!0

I almost caved this morning, our cafeteria was serving up french toast, with egg, and turkey sausage. I was so tempted but I walked away got my hardboiled egg and returned to the office where my oatmeal was waiting for me.
30 minutes later, the flacas (skinny girls) in my office come back from the cafeteria with the french toast plate. If it weren't for the fact that I'm out of commission for a bit (no workouts) I probably would have had some french toast.
I try to remind myself how far I've come and for the most part it helps.0 -
It happens to me all the time. A lot of the people I work with buy lunch almost daily. Most times it's fast food. Some days people take about ordering out something better. The smell of the food does get to me...all the burgers, fries, that intoxicating aroma of the oil, vinegar and spice mix on the subs, and so on. It takes a LOT of will power to not follow suit. It's not easy when they talk about ordering a local favorite called Garbage Plates (it's a Rochester, NY thing). At approximately 4,000 calories, they are tasty but deadly.0

I know it is for a good cause but how long can this bake sale outside my classroom go on??!!!!0

Discover spices woman! Healthy food does not have to equal bland and boring0 -

Isn't it though??? It's killing her that I'm losing weight though and she isn't...
I also love the fact that my company supposedly puts a lot of stock in making us all healthier and thinner, but every single time they fundraise it's bake sales, popcorn & ice cream sales, pizza sales, etc. Seriously??? How do you think I can lose weight and eat that crap? Oh well....0 -
My department had a mini-celebration for birthdays and anniversaries yesterday and I was ready to politely decline the piece of yellow cake that is always served and bam, they decide to do Reeses PB, Red Velvet, and Salted Caramel cupcakes from a fancy schmancy cupcake place. They kept egging me on so I had half a cupcake and now the damn leftovers are still sitting on the counter right behind my desk. I. WILL. NOT. CAVE.

This woman I work with is an AMAZING chef, and she can bake like nobody I've ever met. She actually has a side job as a baker, and bakes for all our company events and stuff. At least twice a week our break room is full of her amazing baked goodies! This is the one and only time I say "thank GOD I'm gluten intolerant!" because otherwise I'd want to eat everything.0

I hate that. Or when someone brings in doughnuts or candy, or some other unhealthy food that stares at me and calls my name... Jerks.0

THings are going fine and then coworker who will be starting a juice fast next week asks to go out to lunch tomorrow. Boo. I'm going to be bonding with the treadmill this weekend!0
