  • Great job!!! I know how tough it is as I am trying to get stronger with running myself! Keep at it! I am slow, but I am getting there. I ran about 95% of 6.60 miles today!!
  • HAHA, i am slow. It took 45 minutes...but it is much better than the 2.2 miles i started at in January.

Awesome work. Don't worry about your pace. It is actually better to start slower to prevent injury. As you get better you will naturally get faster.

That's great ! and quite the accomplishment, I too am trying to run... can almost run 1 full mile without stopping now.... I do 3-6 on a reg basis but can't do it without walking for 30sec every half mile or so....

  • Congratulations! That's a great accomplishment, and I think your time is great! You're only going to keep getting better and faster, and look how far you've come just since January! NSVs are the BEST in my opinion! I'm about ready to throw my scale away lol. Keep up the great work :)

Good job! It's not how far or how fast but that you are running that counts.

    ****WARNING****

Four miles will turn into a 10K. A 10K will turn into a half marathon. A half marathon will tempt you into a full marathon.

Soon you will have an uncontrollable addiction.

It's true. Running is addictive. You heard it from me first.

Congrats! It's an accomplishment no one can take from you.

That's awesome! Can't wait until I can be able do that! I started running about 3 weeks or so ago. I can only do 2 miles straight without stopping. I'm trying to get up to the point so that I can enter a 5K!

I wanted to post a picture with a quote, but I can't figure it out. Great NSV! I love running because every time you run a little further you feel like a winner. Some of my favorite quotes are:

"It doesn't matter how slow you run. You're still lapping everyone on the couch."
    and
"If you run, you are a runner. It doesn't matter how fast or how far. It doesn't matter if today is your first day or if you've been running for twenty years. There is no test to pass, no license to earn, no membership card to get. You just run." - John Bingham

Congratulations on your NSV! That's awesome.

PS 4 miles in 45 minutes is not that slow...just think of it as lapping everyone who's still sitting on the couch :drinker:

In my case, a half marathon just turned into two more half marathons coming up...but I love this.

Haha!! This poster is doing half marathons in every state. ME!! Fat and 50. To date I've crossed finish lines in 36 different states. If all goes as planned, I'll have 47 by the end of 2012.

Yep. It's addictive. One mile at time. Some have been slow. Some have been really slow. But I have 36 medals hanging from 36 wine bottles (I get a bottle made in each state) to pass along to my children when I die.

Why you ask? Pffft ... Because I can. That's why.

I'm so confused. Why say you ran 95% of 6.60 miles? Isn't that just the same as saying you ran 6 and a quarter (or 6.25) miles? What am I missing?
