Anyone else get some of there daily calories from Scotch? I haven't gotten too many from it in the past several months, but one of my goal weight treats was buying a bottle of 12yr old Macallan.

Who else is a scotch fan? What is your scotch of choice?

Also a good one. You have a bottle at home? What age?

    I agree on the Glenlivet.
I'm more of a bourbon man myself. Like Knob Hill, or Bulliet.

I'm personally trying to cut down on my beer. Every night I was coming in good on the cals, but then going over with 3-4 beers. Staying under now, but it took an adjustment.
  • I am a scotch fan, but pretty much cutting it out for now. I love 18yr Macallan, 15yr Lagavulin, and 12yr Ardbeg.

I'm a big craft beer fan, but can't drink too much anymore. I think that drinking a lot of it helped keep me big. But still have one every once in a while.

I've never really been a big fan of bourbon.

My wife has promised me an 18yr Macallan for my birthday.

Scotch is my drink of choice.
I prefer blends. Johnnie Walker red or Pinch.
But I gave a bottle of Macallan 12yo and a bottle of Glenlivet.
I think I prefer the Glenlivet.
I had a glass of each neat last night.
I was still 100 under daily calorie allowance but would have been 400 under.

I'm a single malt lover. Lately, I've been favoring Scapa. My regular fallback is Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban. I have a bottle of Glenfidich Snow Pheonix that I will open on an upcoming special occasion.

Lagavulin 16 year when I want something smokey and if I could afford to drink it every day "Scott's North of Scotland 1964". So, so good. I prefer craft beers though (I've reviewedover 700).

What about the kilts? I wear mine at least twice a year. LOL
  • My personal favorites are Laphroaig (10yr) and Bunnahabhain (12 yr) single malts. I've had plenty of Glenlivet, but one day it just got bland & boring, had to go peaty and smokey.

Scotch is a great weight-loss drink, it's only ~100 calories per shot

I can't say I have a favorite scotch. I currently have in my bar: J&B as well as Johnny Walker Black, Green, Gold, & Blue labels.
I do like my bourbon too. My 2 faves there are Maker's Mark and Knob Creek.

Yum! I love scotch...especially scotch and dry. Hmm....have enjoyed the Glenlevit 12 year and Glenfiddich, but also enjoy the Johnny Walker. I visited Scotland last year and was so in love with the accents and the men are yum! Heehee. :) My dad would be proud if I married a scot...I have scot blood in me as well.

Might I recommend the Laphroaig 10yr or Quarter Cask(personal favorite), Lagavulin 16, or Balvenie 21yr Portwood....that's what we grown ups drink.

Stay busy, get plenty of exercise, and don't drink too much. Then again, don't drink too little....
