So recently I bought one of those personal sized blenders and have been making green smoothies for breakfast. I am so happy because they keep me full, are usually under 200 calories which means they save me so many more calories for the rest of the day!

I'm new to this whole green smoothie thing but here are some recipes I've made this week! Feel free to add any you like, I'm sure I'll get bored with mine soon.

8 oz vanilla almond milk
3.5 oz Chocolate chunk vanilla greek yogurt (I'm addicted to Chonobi Champions kids greek yogurt lol.)
Frozen mixed berries (raspberries, blackberries and strawberries)
handful of spinach
1/2 tables spoon dark chocolate powder

8 oz vanilla soy milk
3.5 oz honey nana greek yogurt
frozen mango chucks
handful of spinach
(This one was amazing it tasted like ice cream!)

8 oz orange juice
2 carrots
handful of spinach
frozen mango chucks
2 tablespoons plain greek yogurt.

They all sound awesome! I've heard you have to seriously blend the spinach, though. Is that right?
And since you like Chobani...have you tried the passion fruit? ah-mazinggg!! and I don't even like Chobani! I normally go for yoplait light but my husband insisted I tried it :P

Sounds great! I love them too! You really can't even taste the spinach and it's great because it's raw so all of the nutrients are packed in!

    strawberries (fresh or frozen)
    greek yogurt
    almond milk
    splash juice (Oj is fine)
    spinach (handful)

    Very good!!

thanks for sharing your recipe and post!

    This is my favorite smoothie:

8-10 oz unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 scoop chocolate whey protein powder
1/2 to 1 tbsp dark cocoa powder
biiiggg handful of spinach, maybe even two!
    frozen strawberries or blueberries
if I feel like adding some fat: 1/2 tbsp coconut oil OR 1/2 a small avocado OR a spoonful of nut butter
+ a few ice cubes, half a packet of stevia, and a pinch of guar gum for thickening

    seriously delicious.

So, can I use frozen spinach? You can not believe what they charge for spinach where I live...assuming it's even available. I suppose that's stupid, of course I CAN but how much, do you think?

I LOVE green smoothies and have been eating them everyday this week! I think spinach, banana, peanut butter, flax seed, ice, and greek yogurt is my favorite!! I haven't tried mango yet! that sounds yummy.

I have a ninja and it chops the spinach with no problem.

Must steal this from my kiddos:-) Already had to buy my own brown cow since they wouldn't share!
  • This is one of my favorite things to eat, but I've gotten away from it lately. Need to find my way back to the goodness that is the Green Monster.

For those that add the whey protein powder, does it make it frothy, almost mousse-like? I blended milk, a frozen banana and a scoop of chocolate whey protein isolate and it was so thick and mousse-like that I couldn't drink it. The flavor was good but the texture was awful.

So glad this was posted because I wanted to start doing green smoothies. Can anyone suggest a blender? I need a new one as mine doesn't blend ice very well anymore.
