How long until I start seeing some results?

I haven't lost any weight yet - in fact I think I may have gained a couple of kilos! I haven't been very consistent with my food and exercise though and I've been on here nearly three weeks. How long will it likely take to start seeing some results?

  • What kind of exercise program are you doing?

It took me a whole month before I dropped the first pound. My brother (he has a masters degree in athletic training) says its not unusual at all to not loose anything for the first month and that's why most people give up so fast. Keep working at it and it will happen!

I have two gym programmes, one cardio and one weights with cardio. They both take about an hour to complete and are pretty intense (well at the moment I'm finding they are because I'm just getting into it). My exercise has been pretty random the past few weeks so I've decided from Monday that I'll get into a routine of doing the cardio programme one day, only crosstrainer the next day (I enjoy this and I think it works well), weights and cardio the following day, then crosstrainer again then cardio programme again. In the weekend I'm usually pretty slack so I haven't been doing much but I have Zumba at home and Pilates so would like to do those and also my gym has fight do classes which I enjoy. There's a lot to chose from but I think if I start Monday with my routine it will set me in good stead for my weight loss journey. I track my calories burned with an HRM

I lost first week...that being said, the only way to SHOW weight loss that fast is to not workout and just diet. If you are working out you are doing great, it takes a while longer because muscle weighs more than fat! Don't get discouraged, it will fall off fast when it starts!
  • you really need to be consistant with your food logging , if not you wont know if your are on the right track..
