I exercise and *try* to eat healthy everyday. But I'd like to kick up the weight loss a little. My friend was telling me about how great some sort of diet pill is, and I was thinking about trying it to see if I could boost my results a little.
Have any of you taken diet pills? If so: What works, what doesnt? What were your results?
Just curious
Thanks

Best on the market- http://www.drvitaminsolutions.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=5930

I have, but they made me very sick - even after two / three weeks. I ended up having to take 2 days off of work to get myself back to normal. I had the shakes, nausea, and the like. It was horrible. I'd rather take the time and lose it slowly.0

You won't find much support for short-cut diet pills here.
You will find lots of support for moving from TRYING to DOING in eating healthy. Yep, that's pretty much what most people here advocate.

Don't do diet pills.0

NOOOOO! Don't do it! I don't like how I feel, and I end up eating more because I'm feeling all sorts of stressed out.
My "magic pill" for weight loss is drinking lots of water. 1/2 your weight in pounds as ounces of water was the recipe I was given. Haven't converted it to metric, sorry!
To kick up the weight loss, try new types of exercises, change your diet plan, up your calories, have a cheat day (100-200 extra nutritious calories), but don't go to over the counter pills. Most of them are super unhealthy.
Good luck!0 -

That's what I figured. I was just wondering what other people thought. I tried them once before, but wasn't eating healthy or exercising, so they didn't work. haha. Thanks0 -

Ok so what do you do when you STOP taking the pills? Most of them are just a bunch of cr@p jacked up with caffeine!0 -

I do insanity for weight loss/toning- so it changes up quite a bit... we have to weigh in on the 16th for my husbands insurance. and the less we weigh the more money he gets, that's why I wanted a quick fix until I could finish the work out program0 -
In agreement with others...just say no! Most of the ones on the market today have a butt load of caffeine, and will give you the jitters and a nauseated feeling, or make your heart start racing...not good. I've tried them in the past, and none really did anything other than make me feel like crap. I mean, sure I lost weight...but when I'm too nauseated to eat, that is expected.0

Thanks for the advice everyone0

Then I absolutely suggest increasing your water intake! It really helps me.0 -

UM....coming from an HR Professional....that's illegal. They cannot base an incentive soley on weight. Check the policy, on the metrics they use to score your insurance incentive.
I understand BMI plays a big part, but cannot play over a certain percentage of it. Check it out, before you do something you'll regret.0 -
if there was a magic pill we would all be thin. most of them are placebos- in a way. if u want something to work, u do whatever u can to help it work
dont waste your money!0 -

Diet pills are pretty much useless. Even ephedrine (which has been banned) dosed properly etc will only give around a 5-7% boost in metabolic rate from what I hear. Your better off having 50 less cals a day or spending 5 more minutes doing cardio.
Hard work and proper nutrition will take you much farther, I promise. Not to mention keep your purse heavier.0 -

while I agree diet pills dont help much.... ephedrine isnt banned. I just cant be sold for "diet pills" anymore because people are too f*cking retarded to follow directions.0 -

I was just making the point that something as "strong" as that doesn't really even provide an adequate benefit in my opinion. Yes it cannot be sold as a dietary supplement because it was banned in 2004.0 -
I have found one diet pill that worked for me. This was before I found this website and they worked so well last year, I just purchased more. They are called Healthe' Trim, "Get highschool skinny" is their sloogin. They have a website,http://www.healthytrim.com/htlanding.asp I discovered it from our local radio station. When I first started taking them I was not working out, very depressed and just felt bad. They helped me feel better, gave me energy and i ended up loosing 27 pounds off of them in 4 months. They are all natural, they do have natural caffeine and some hoodia. I really like them. I guess the weirdest thing it helped me with is I felt it changed something in my brain, I went from stressing all day about where my next meal was coming from and what I would eat, to not thinking about food at all, therefore not stressing and eating less. I know, sounds weird, just giving my opinion. As for regular over the counter diet pills, I would not do, I think they are bad for you. With this product they have a money back guarantee, 30 days, if you aren't happy you get your money back.
Anywho, just my experience and my opinion. Good luck with whatever you do.0 -

its about as banned as advil.
as a "dietary suppliment" its banned.. but the substance itself is not banned.. you can just buy it over the counter like tons of other drugs.. (and yes, its a drug)
i'll send you a link, but i think it would be irresponsible for me to post it on this forum. too many people with good intentions, but uneducated about what they're doing.0 -
Do bootcamp or High intensity interval training!
I've never taken a diet pill for weight loss. Just plain exercise! Keep it simple!0 -
I take a dietary supplement that is made of natural food-based ingredients. It speeds up your metabolism by the use of capsi-max (a red hot pepper blend) and acai. It is called Thermo-Fit by It Works Global. I really like it, It doesn't make your heart pound of make you act crazy or anything like that! Plus it's healthy for your body. I take it every day and have no negative side effects. I'm a distributor for this company so if you want more information just message me. You can get an ingredient list and see more about it at https://rebeccarains.myitworks.com/Shop/Product/3020

Their are a couple of products which do actually help a little, but for the most part they are not worth the money and mostly just hype.
I just stick to a caffeine + green tea combo0 -
I don't take diet pills. I am on the Herabalife diet and I would strongly recommend it. I love it and it doesn't leave me feeling hungry. Their shakes are phenomenal.0

I tried Adipex and it made me REALLY jittery, nervous. I did lose 25 pounds but I didn't learn anything so I gained it back in 2 years. Also, I think what I lost was a lot of muscle
I'm trying to do it now the right way!0 -
nnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
don't do it.0 -
I have done the pills, both Meridia and Phentermine. They help for a little while... I even lost about 30 with Meridia. But what they don't do is train your brain and body how to live on less food and be satisfied, which is what you HAVE to do. Otherwise, as soon as you stop taking them you are positively starving. I guarantee any loss will be immediately gained back, plus more. Unless you keep taking them. But then they don't work anymore. It's a vicious cycle.
The only drug that helped me stay thin was nicotine. I would lose weight and quit smoking, gain a bunch and start because I was afraid of being too fat. Well, I quit almost three years ago and within a few years I was thirty pounds heavier than I had EVER been. But no more cigarettes for me.
No drugs. Diet and exercise. The only way!0 -
The FDA has NOT cleared 'diet pills', that means that the manufacturers can put ANYTHING they want in the pill, market it, and sell it to you.
Not saying that ALL the companies do, but I was watching Dr. Oz one day, and he had some 'weight loss pills' tested, and the lab found Phen-Phen (which is now illegal here), ephedrine (sudafed), hydrocodone (vicodin), and a bunch of other drugs in the pills.
Personally, I am very wary of diet pills and 'supplements' UNLESS I know the company is a reputable one.0 -
I know I will get slammed for this but this is just information for you to check out. A.C.E. is a natural weight loss pill that is helping a lot of people lose weight. I know these people and see the results they are getting. I bought a bottle and I love the way it helps me to have more energy with no side effects. I don't take it everyday just when I really need help with overeating and cravings. Its not a diet miracle pill just helps me to eat healthier. I just started drinking Slim fast 123 and taking fiber pills with it. This is really helping me to stay away from junk food because I don't feel so hungry and can make better food choices. Now for the replies.....:happy:0
