Toilet seat position?

This was just brought up on a tv show, I find it interesting. Personally I don't care if my boyfriend leaves the toilet seat up. I flick it down if I need to, he lifts it up if he needs to. I don't understand womens demand for men to always make sure its down for them.
What do you guys think?

I really don't care, as long as he flushes.0

The only problem comes in when you're half awake in the middle of the night and need to take care of business. If you need to go #2, it's no fun when you go to sit down and find yourself with your a** in that cold water. Or if you need to go #1 and BOTH lids are down....0

I live with three guys. Lucky me... All I ask is please hit the hole !!!!!! Teenagers ! I told my son he is a guy he should not have to use toilet paper after a pee to wipe off seat. And if I sit down on his piss on more time.. there is hell to pay ! Wipe it off of hit the hole ! Oh and about the seat. I am fine.. up or down.. just DRY !!!!!0

I'm not a fan of it being left up. I'm a hygiene-freak - I can't even touch a bin or raw meat without feeling disgusting for hours later even after washing my hands obsessively. Fortunately, I can only remember one occasion ever when my fiancé left the seat up. It's one of those little things I appreciate but have never said 'Hey, thanks!' for.0

We have to keep the lid down in this household b/c the cats will try to jump up on the toilet and fall in. Then you have little toilet-water cat footprints all around the house. Ew.0

I leave it down with the lid on and everything. You never know when you're going to accidentally drop something in the bathroom, nothing sucks worse than fishing it out. Besides it just looks cleaner that way0

At home I have my son and my husband, at work I have my uncle, dad, and our male driver. If I ever complained about them not putting the seat down at either place, I would probably be scolded for not putting it back UP! I agree with a previous poster though... please guys just make sure you hit the hole and keep the seat dry!0

Sorry, ladies, but if I'm putting the seat down for you all the time but I'm using the terlet more, then I'm constantly putting it back up and then back down again.
Only two answers are acceptable:
1) EVERYTHING down, including lid, by both genders, or
2) Left wherever the last user left it.
And while I'm at it, the terlet paper should hang over the top of the roll...not down from behind.
So I have spoken...so let it be done.0 -
Always, please, put the seat down. I don't even care if you put the lid down. Sitting bare butt on a toilet lid in the middle of the night because you don't want to blind yourself to pee is much better than falling in to the cold toilet bowl water any day!0

I'm OCD in the fact that I want the whole thing closed when not in use..as in lid and all. Mainly because I have animals and I don't want them drinking out of it since I have chemicals in it to keep it clean. But..that's just me0

It stays closed in our house because my cat just LOVES to drink all that fresh water that is in there  !! I'm glad thought because I don't like to get up in the middle of the night and sit in cold water because I didn't look to see if its down or not.0

I think that I will be more than happy to put it down if the ladies wanna leave it up. I live with 6 woman so I tell them be happy that I am not pissing on the seat. :laugh:0

This, always!0 -
I have a wife, 3 daughters and 2 grandaughters. Took me forever to train them to lift the lid back up when they were done.0

Everything shut. Grosses me out to flush an open toilet, sends poop germs into the air.0

I like it down because I have 2 young boys. The rim is disgusting and I don't want to sit on it, I usually look but there's those hurry up times When you gotta go NOW!0
-
I prefer that it gets left up because they don't always have the best aim and I do NOT like having to clean the seat off before I sit down.0

Most of the time I rather have it up because then my 11 and 6 year old boys don't pee on the seat. I hate when I get up in the middle of the night to pee and find my butt wet because one of the boys peed on the seat. I told them if I sit on pee one more time they will be cleaning the toilet because I have enough to do everyday (with having 4 kids) than to be cleaning the toilet every time one of them pees! My hubby puts it down for me though :-)0

I have never seen any seats when she lets me outside... toilet... what?0
