Do you ever like the title of a thread, open it, and think, "Nope, too long?"

This one!!!!!! Too damn long.0

The results of a thread from a few days ago generally agreed that width was more important than length.0

YES0

I'm more apt to run away if it's all one big long sentence. No capitalization or separation into paragraphs. It's like the poster is just vomiting into the thread. Messy!0

I'm a serial skimmer. Or if it's REALLY long, I just skip to the last page!0

 tsk tsk!
(But I totally agree)0 -
I read them if they are long, but I tend to skip the whole thing once I see how many responses there are... over 100 I don't USUALLY comment. Of course there are always exceptions! :ohwell:0
-
shorten please.... eye strain...mental fatigue...0
-
If the thread is long (many pages) I will read the first and last pages. But if you mean the original post being super long... I will read it if it's in paragraphs. If it's one big wall of text, no way.0
-
So you are talking about the actual post length, not the thread length?
Thread length does turn me away from commenting, since I may have something to say about the original post but if there are 10 pages of responses, chances are, someone already said the same thing, so I just let it go.
If a post is long, it depends if it is interesting ...0 -

^^This mostly. If it's one big run-on paragraph it's just too much work.0 -
Yes...pithy is an art form I put effort into.0

The Internet has made us attention deficit attention *kitten*. We don't want to have to read too much, think too much or work too hard. But pay attention to me! Look at me! We don't want to take the time to articulate our reasons or explain context for better understanding when a witty quip - or even just a posted image - will suffice. Whatever's fast and easy works. And it provides less to critique.0 -

This is one of the shortest replies I have ever seen KG write. He likes to use ALL the words, usually.0 -

I agree whole heartedly! My number 2 problem!0 -
Sometimes I will look away if I don't care for the OP.0

And I didn't have to bust out my dictionary today to figure out what he meant.0 -

There's an ignore feature for that.0 -
There are many reasons I'm turned off to a post. Length, lack of paragraphs, ALL CAPS, the OP, or the mad redundancy of the subject.0
