Anyone else out there work graveyard hours? Any tips on when to eat? I struggle every day with sleep, so some days I may go to be at 6am and wake up at 2pm then the next day I can't go to sleep until 10am and wake up at 7pm. I try not to eat after 2am the following day as my goal is to get to sleep by 6am. It really messes with my meals - I'm trying to get in at least 5-6 small meals a day.

Im with you. I never eat 5-6 meals. I get up around 3pm and eat breakfast, then the wife gets home from work around 5:30 or 6:00 so I eat dinner with the family around 6:30 or 7:00. I leave for work at 10:00pm and dont eat anything while Im there. I get home areound 3:00am and work out, then I have my post workout protein shake and thats it. So I eat 2 meals. For breakfast I eat anywhere from 400 to 500 calories and for dinner I eat 800-1000 calories. Every now and then I squeeze in a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich but thats about it. So I basically get 1800-2000 calories in two meals and a protein shake. With these hours its just hard to eat 5-6 meals so I quit trying. I just try to get my calories when I can.0

This is my schedule. Go to bed around 7am eat breakfast wheneve I wake up which is usually 12 or 1 then eat lunch around 5 workout at 7 or 8 then head to work. I eat my dinner at work between 1 and 2.0

I work 11pm-7am. I eat 2x a day. Once while at work and then once at home after work. I'll graze on my lunch through out the work night. it helps keeping me awake while at work. After I get off work I'll have my 2nd meal usually between 11am-1pm. I just eat that in 1 sitting. I tried the broken up chunks of sleep but I never could get restful sleep that way. I just stay up till about 2-3pm then to bed until 10:30pm and do it all over again.0

I work 7P to 7A at least 5 days a week. You are welcome to check out my diary and see how I set mine up. Maybe something simular might help you.0

Yeah, the 3rd shift is rough and im having the same problem. I gained 8 lbs back fromt the 20 Id lost after switching back to graveyard 4 months ago. Its really frustrating. One of the things I've been doing is having my biggest meal when I get up around 7pm and then 2 rlow calorie /high protein replacement shakes at work then go home and sleep. So far, Im seeing good results but Ive only just started. so Ill keep you posted. Just wanted to let you know ur not alone. Good luck!0
