student wants to be healthier

Hi I'm 21, and in my 3rd year in university.
I have a healthy BMI and I work out when I can, some weeks it's 5x other weeks I am lucky to go once. I already consider myself fairly healthy, however I do have some unhealthy habits I would like to kick.
I have heart disease on one side of the family, and diabetes on the other so really for me is about being pro-active and eating a healthy, practical diet.
I'm using this to keep me accountable, typically whenever I start to eat a healthier diet, it lasts like 2 days. Crackers, cheese, and peanut butter are too abundant in my diet! However, lately I have been a little worried about getting type 2 diabetes. So I've gradually been incorporating fruit in replacement for my late evening snacks.
I am not going to cut out any food, let's be realistic here, but I am only to let myself have "treats" when its a special occasion or after a horrible exam lol.
As well as just consuming healthier food, in the process I would also like to lose maybe 10 pounds. I am a bridesmaid in the spring and, while I look proportioned, my hips were a size 10 while my waist was a size 4 and my bust was size 2 (lol). That's where my username comes from, I joked, "I'm a walking triangle!"
Please add me as a friend if you can relate to aiming to eat lots of vegies or losing a few pounds to be in the best health you can be!
