Hi...
I have been trying to loose weight since a long time...i have started going to zumba and I absolutely love it...
i want to stick to such types of workouts such as zumba/kickbox/step etc which are fun to do...
Will zumba help me in both cardio and in my muscle toning also?
i dont want to do lot of strength training at this time as its not helping me loose weight...( i know it changes body inches...but my goal now is to loose 10 pounds and then include lot of strength later)
Please let me know...as i want to stick to these classes weekly 5 to 6 days a week.

Zumba will do it. I have done nothing but zumba & lost 24lbs in no time at all. You should also head over to http://www.tiffanyrotheworkouts.com/workouts/express-fitness-workouts-routines.html do some of those videos. They are tough & good. I do the Butt & Arm Combo & it kicks *kitten*..... and she makes you do it 3 times in total. Do that then do a zumba workout. You will feel it then
I do at least a 30min zumba workout every day, but thats only cause I'm on a mission.... 30 workouts in 30 days. Try to do Zumba for at least 30 mins a day.... that is the most I can do due to my back but then do the other workouts as well & you will feel it really working. She will tone you up as well.
Have fun. I'm off to do another workout for today0 -
these videos are good...thanks for your advice!0

I love zumba! Several years ago I went on blood pressure medicine an gained alot of weight, then I become a diabetic. Added more wt. Nothing I tried helped me. I have been doing zumba flat abs since Jan 1, 2012. I am finally seeing a big difference in my body and my legs. I am getting stronger and leaner by doing zumba 5 to 6 times a week. Try it I think you will enjoy it, to me it is both cardio and toning. Good luck.0

Although Zumba does work most of your major muscle groups, it is primarily a cardio exercise. If you want to "tone" (which really is just muscle showing through), you need to gain muscle. In order to do that, you need to do strength training - real strength training, with actual weight/resistance.0

thanks for the info0

I agree with Corylda. Zumba will make you loose weight and inches but not get toned and firm. Also, weight training is good for women as it decreases their risks of getting osteoporosis later in life. Weight training and muscle strengthening also helps with carrying a healthy pregnancy, delivering the baby and recovering after the delivery. I am not sure if you have any such plans, although I remember that you are recently married. In other words, you could do just Zumba, which is a lot of fun and loose weight but from a long term perspective, strength training is also very important.0
