HELP!

I'm new to this whole weight loss thing and I think i'm doing a great job, but I need help with one thing! I exercise about 3 times a week and it is mostly cardio at this point. I have noticed that when I weigh myself on the days after I exercise, I gain weight, but on the days I don't I seem to lose. This is a bit unnerving to me because I know I need to exercise but seeing the scale jump up a bit makes me want to stop altogether. Please help me understand why this happens, I am in need of serious motivation right now. Thanks!!

I don't know what is causing your fluctuations (water maybe?), but you could try weighing less often, like weekly. I weigh daily but I don't really take what the scale has to say at face-value without seeing more of the average, or week's end result, so that I can see the bigger picture.0

Exercise can make you bloat a bit, but dont worry its only temporary as youve seen. You see contestants on Biggest Loser do it all the time when they drop a 0 or a really low number. Make sure you drink plenty of water. Dont be disheartened, it will come off!0

When my husband exercises a lot he sometimes will show a bit of a weight gain and then a loss later on. Sometimes especially if you're doing any weights your muscles will swell (and hurt!), and they'll retain some water. But over the course of the week you'll still see a net loss if you keep doing what you are doing. Look at what has happened over the last ten days or so, rather than what has happened since yesterday. That helps me to see a better picture of what is happening.0

Everyone's weight fluctuates throughout the day, week, month. It's why many people advocate against daily scale stepping (I live by my daily weigh-ins). I would pick one day to be the "real" weigh-in and be focus on the trends over time.0
