"Dance, ballroom fast" or "Dance, aerobic, ballet or modern, swing". Was just looking at them, that's why I know!
  • Thanks! I appreciate it!

I think it depends on how many calories you burn, I use zumbacalories.com

Look up your calories burned at zumbacalories.com and then add that to your data base.

Is that zumbacalories website actually accurate?

I use a Polar HRM when I go to Zumba. I tried the website out of curiousity and it was pretty darn accurate. within 200 calories. my HRM being the higher number of the 2.

I added Zumba under My Exercises and enter my own calories. I also use the Polar FT40 everyday and it was accurate compared the zumba website.
  • When I wore my heart rate monitor I was burning at most 894/hour, zumbacalories.com put me in a little under 700. It's pretty close, but you have to be honest in how intense
  • I use my HRM, I don't want to even start to guess how many calories I'm burning. I will tell you, when I started Zumba last summer I was burning upwards of 700+ calories for an hour and fifteen minute class. I am now only burning about 450 calories for the same class, as my body has gotten used to it and in better shape. Definitely a bummer.

I had the same problem, I realized I wasn't really as sweaty or out of breath and in 6 months went down to around 500 cal/hour. But my instructor who is amazing and takes when people say they aren't getting a workout seriously, changed up her whole playlist and I'm back up to around 800 cal now
