Always over on Protein

Hi team,
Need some help/advice/guidance...I'm always about 20g over on my protein - I'm allowed 59g. I find it really difficult (more so than fat and carbs) to stick to. Even a simple diet yoghurt puts me way up. What effect will this have on my weightloss? I've been at this for a month now and I've only lost 1kg (started at 83kg). Is the fact that I'm having too much protein what's stopping me from losing weight. I am exercising at least 3 times a week and burning at least 400cal at a time. I've had a few "off the wagon" days but nothing too bad. What's the deal? Try harder to cut down on protein?

Going over on protein will not hinder your weight loss unless you are consistently going over on your calories. In fact, MFP protein setting is pretty low. I am for at least 100g (or 1g per pound of lean body mass) per day minimum. Unless you have a medical condition where you have been told to restrict protein intake, you don't need to worry about getting too much.0

you'll be fine.
the only thing that affects weight loss is over eating calories.0 -
Protein helps with repair to your muscles especially if your lifting. I usually aim for 1g per pound. It also helps keep me full!0

The default setting is pretty low IMO. I actually changed my settings to up mine.0

59g of protein is barely anything. MFP sets protein pretty low on default. Try to do 1g per pound. Protein is the best macro to go over on.0

How did you change your settings? I would like to do that as well since I am always at least 45 g over on protein and while I know that is a good thing for me, it would be nice to see everything green0

Thanks everyone! I'm rarely over on calories, I guess I'll just have to keep on going and hopefully at the moment I'm getting over a hump and soon it will all be downhill (that's what I'm banking on at least :-))0
