breastfeeding & weightless

As the title suggests, i'd like to be better informed about my weightless journey while breast-feeding my 10 week old son. I am aware this website does not advocate doing this program while b/f, but i believe in a healthy manner its ok.
So who has done this, or can give me some actual facts about breastfeeding, calories to be consumed . I've heard that the production along with the b/f itself burns anywhere from 200-500 calories per day. so should i eat extra calories then?
I am finding on my 1200 calls per day I'm a tad lethargic. i've come off a week where I've been over my calls, but otherwise 1200- with exercise calls consumed is normally manageable for me.
I have lost 3.5 kgs to date & hope to have lost another 8 by May this year.
Thanks in advance ( oh and sorry if this has been asked before, but searching through the forums i haven't seen it)

when i was breastfeeding, my doctor told me to stay around 1500-1700 to lose weight, and still keep my production up for kiddo. you can enter breastfeeding into your food diary and it will add extra calories for you, depending on how often you nurse. if its exclusively with no formula, you get about 500. definitely eat them! i managed to lose 30 pounds in about 6 months while nursing baby#2, unfortunately i gained most of it back when i stopped BFing and watching what i ate >.>0

I started tracking my foods after about 6 months. I exclusively breastfed my daughter until 6 months when she started weaning. Then I entered it on MFP and allowed an extra 300 cals per day...and I made sure I ate them! You definitely need a decent amount of cals when nursing, it's good for your milk and for the baby. I found my weight steadily came off at 1 or 2 lbs a week, which was perfect and safe. 9 months on, 9 months off is the safest way...don't rush. You'll get there0
