i love this class - not sure of the calorie burn but a good overall body work out. I have also bought the at home version from beach body and love it.0

I love it as well. I log it as "circuit training," the same way I would log Insanity videos or Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. I'd say it's very effective and you will feel sore the next day!! The instructor makes all the difference, so if your gym has it at multiple times with different instructors try at least two to figure out which class you like the best!0

I do Body Pump x3/week. I wear a HRM and typically burn around 150 cals, but I use pretty light weight sets.0

I do Body Pump 2x a week if I can fit it in. I love it.
I log it as weight training and between medium-high intensity depending on the cardio the teacher adds in and my weight set.0 -
I burn about 250-300 cal with this class. It's fun and since I don't do typically do weights on my own it gets me working my muscles 2x a week.0

I do it at least 3X a week. I love this class. I burn closer to 400 to 500 calories, but I don't go light.0

I LOVE bodypump! It's my favourite class, just so much fun and you really feel like you get to challenge yourself at the same time as you don't feel completely lost or like you can't enjoy it. If the instructor is good it's just amazing. The first few weeks of doing it you will feel really, really sore but it's worth it. You might want to keep track of your individual calorie burn instead of relying on mfp for the actual number.
You should totally try it out though! I can't go right now because I have class during the time when my gym offers it but the second I get a chance to again I will get back to it!0 -
I loved BP so much that i became an instructor in 2009 (I was already a bodystep instructor). Honestly, what you burn all depends on you and the effort you put in. I always tell me class that (especially on legs), if you aren't breathing hard you don't have enough weight on that bad boy. The most I burn in a class is 450, but I probably usually land closer to 350. That being said they've started to add more complex exercises in the past few releases to push hr longer, allowing for that greater calorie burn. I agree with trying out different instructors, and talk to the instructor before hand for some weight and movement guidance.0

I'm actually a Body Pump instructor! I love it! I usually estimate my calories at about 350 for an hour class.0

With a 30 min cardio session and the 60 minute class, I burned 825 calories according to my HRM. LOVE Body Pump and highly recommend it!!0

I love body pump!! They now came out with the home version. It is on the beachbody sites, Les Mills Pump. I don't like having gym memberships. I'm hoping to get that version soon. : )0

I LOVED Body Pump and miss it. The Y has Body Bar, but it's not the same. Body Pump is fun and a great workout.0

Awesome post! I was JUST trying to decide if I should try the bodypump class today at my gym! After reading through the posts I am definintely going to give it a try! I've been focusing solely on cardio and want to change it up. So glad I checked out this post!
